Good People, can be a good part time job for some
|
I worked here as a part timer, mainly on night shifts as a second source of income. What kept me there so long was the people and the benefits of being able to fly around the world for very list cost (free). The job is very strenuous, the hours can be long, people call off often and that creates more work. Working night shift, we were responsible for cleaning the planes, which can take hours. We also cannot leave until the plane arrives so if a place delays until 3am, you're stuck there waiting for it and then clean it afterwards, that can get tiring especially when you have to wake up for work the next morning. The job is not bad if your okay with working 3-4 days, the benefits are great and the people are awesome. Management was ok when I was there, the pay was not very good however.

Okay good palce to work with good people but when you work for the airlines, you dont really ever have a good day. but the staff is nice and the environemtn is fun.

Good but extremely busy

There was no down time at all. Almost every single week we were in required overtime. Pay and benefits were good though. Upper level management seemed out of touch with employee needs.

Not the job I signed up for

When I first started, many years ago, this job was a dream. With our current management, morale has never been lower. We are all struggling to live off of the crumbs that we are being paid which are not enough to survive in any of the major cities that we are assigned to work from. Seeking alternative employment options, as are many others.

Excellent Chief Pilots and a great flight deck and cabin crews. Pay is very competitive.

I flew for American for 25 years. Many ups and downs over the years due to 9/11, furloughs, mergers, bankruptcies, and covid. However, every airline had these issues but American handled them fairly well. The new 2023 pilot contract is very competitive and the upgrade to narrow body Captain is currently about 2 years. The wide body fleet is not as robust as Delta or United but the international flying is still quite good. I never had a problem with a crew member, chief pilot, or the training academy. Excellent medical coverage. Basically, a very good place to work.

Decent place/Management sucks
|
Management does not care much about employees well being always seem to be out to get you for the smallest things. As long as you keep your head down and under the radar for the most part you should be good. Flight benefits best thing about working for American.
