I was singled out because I was the only black employee. I was never introduced to the managers and demeaned when I didn’t know who to report to. I was constantly yelled at in front of customers. I was bullied to the point that I cried in the bathroom multiple times. I lost my job because I broke my ankle and could not walk, but my manager would not take my drs note. When I tried to reach out to HR about this, they did not care and said they could not help. Clearly, I’m not the only one because even though I no longer work here, I still get settlement checks from them constantly being sued. They will go out of business.

Fun job but awful hours and questionable work culture

Ulta is a fun job for any beauty lover. Provides very insightful information about the inner workings of the beauty industry, and is generally an easy job. The discount is amazing and I also received a lot of free products to try.

Awful hours! Corporate cuts your store's hours if you aren't reaching credit card sales goals, so I along with my coworkers went from working 28+ hours a week to 4-10. Many people quit due to lack of hours and our hiring manager would just keep adding new people to the team, giving them favoritism. Not a good option for people who want to make a lot of money or want stability. We also don't make commission, so there were little benefits of pushing credit so hard. And there was also a lot of gossip and hostility among employees which was negative to be around.
