Role Summary
The Sr Principal Software Engineer provides technical guidance for multiple technology domains from strategic decisions down to the effort planning level. This role designs and implements high-level design plan for the overall technical strategy for multiple areas. The role develops and refines expert skills in communicating, consulting and strategically guiding technology, as well as solution architectures, and the role of emerging technology trends.
Key Duties
Ensures all business capabilities are captured, communicated, and revised as needed.
Examines the application portfolio for potential gaps and weaknesses.
Lead the definition of long-term technical strategy with a 12-24 month horizon.
Advise enterprise leaders on long-term goals of technical strategy and tie those goals to business strategies.
Spearheads coordination roadmap efforts across multiple product teams, builds future state models, and aids in design of technical migration plans.
Guides architectural assessments and recommendations of key and potential new systems.
Provides high level technical guidance and direction on products ensuring new efforts fit in with the overall strategic vision.
Develops, documents, and communicates plans for investing in technical architecture, including cost analyses.
Lead communication to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences on a variety of technology topics.
Creates and evangelizes appropriate standards, methodologies, processes, and guidelines for applying technology to business outcomes.
Researches and aids in development of proofs-of-concept.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
A minimum of 10 years of designing and/or developing technology solutions across a variety of technology landscapes.
Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
A broad background in technical architecture, application development, middleware, and database management for multiple operating systems or development language/methodologies.
Working knowledge of one or more information technology architecture standards such as COBIT, TOGAF, IT4IT, etc.
Experience evaluating RFPs from the technological perspective and providing recommendations.
Experience creating policy and governance documents with respect to software and infrastructure technologies.
Experience conveying technology information to diverse audiences via virtual and in-person channels to ensure common understanding.
Experience producing effective proofs of concept with different technologies.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Established skills in leading and/or mentoring other technology professionals.
Proficiency working in multi-cloud environments
Experience architecting, implementing, and reviewing large system implementations.
Familiarity with data privacy, compliance, and security principles/standards.
Demonstrated business acumen including RFP participation and product delivery.
Broad background in product delivery, technical architectures, application development, middleware, and/or database management.

Role Summary
The Pilot Development Program is geared toward pilot students whom attend one of our partner schools/programs and are interested in a career with Horizon Air. As the regional carrier for Alaska Airlines, you will fly through some of the most beautiful parts of our country with advanced avionics at your fingertips that keep the flying fun. Pilots sign an agreement to work for Horizon Air for a minimum of two years after reaching ATP minimums.
Key Duties
Attend program specific meetings as scheduled
Check in meetings scheduled with program director every 6 months
Complete monthly survey of flight hours
Required
Active Private Pilot License
Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate
Valid FCC Permit Restricted Radiotelephone Operator
Valid US driver’s license
ATP minimum requirements scheduled for completion no earlier than 3 months from today's date
Ability to provide accurate flight records including logbooks
Minimum of 21 years old, high school diploma or equivalent, authorization to work in the U.S., and have and be able to maintain a valid passport allowing unrestricted travel, without a TRP, to and from the U.S.
Successfully complete pilot development program in accordance with program guidelines (required for Horizon First Officer position)

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
A minimum of 2 years of customer service or community service experience.
Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, listening).
Typing speed of at least 25 WPM.
Ability to consistently lift 25 kgs.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.
Flexibility to work varied shifts (e.g., weekends, holidays).
Ability to participate in paid training.
Ability to learn and operate a computerized reservation system.
Ability to adapt to performing work according to set procedures.
Ability to anticipate needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate in Spanish and English.
High school diploma or equivalent.
