Easy job-- unrealistic company expectations

After the original problematic manager of the store, Roger, was transferred to a different store (not fired) for making female employees uncomfortable and multiple employees cry, the team was really great. Megan Abell is a great leader and the job itself was fairly easy.
|
Upper management doesn't care about employees at the store level, the compensation is taken away from employees for company issues, team issues are not solved they just want to push the problems out until they quite or transfer them, and unrealistic expectations put on store level employees who just end up faking metrics to not get punished.

My advice would be to listen to your store level employees instead of trying to enlist a one rule fits all. It always seemed that no matter what metrics we were hitting as a store, there would always be complaints about the one that was slightly off.

When it got busy and you got the luck of the draw it was decent money. Making 56K a year is definitely grewt when you come from minimum wage.

Unprofessional. Lack of leadership. Gossip and drama. Intermingling amongst management and higher up. I would constantly have to make sure they paid me correctly. You work in sales, backroom and as maintenance. You do not get rewarded or compassted for working hard.

I have loved La-Z-Boy so much. Management is fair, work/life balance is good, culture is amazing (at least at my location), the base pay was acceptable, relaxed work environment, you sell a good product, great benefits, employee discount is tempting, fun place to learn to be a better salesperson!

I believe you can make good money at this company as a sales associate, but where I worked I didn't make enough to want to stay. Besides that, this company was amazing to work for.

Great opportunity for management. Our market currently has 4 job positions available.

The rules for time off change depending on who is asking off. It is very inconsistent to what days you are allowed to take off. My manager can take off block out days and not work 3 VIP events in a row where as I asked off for the max of 9 days in a row and then was told I needed approval which I did have when I requested. Nothing is in writing it’s all subjective.
