TEGNA, one of the most geographically diverse broadcasters in the U.S., is seeking a Cash Applications Specialist to join our Shared Services team. This position will be part of the TEGNA corporate team with company-wide responsibility but will be physically located at our NBC Affiliate in Indianapolis, WTHR. The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for the daily application and reconciliation of payment receipts in a high-volume, centralized team with various payment sources - bank lockbox, electronic payments, and credit card payments utilizing imported files for auto-application and actions taken on exceptions.Responsibilities:
Seek assistance from station personnel when needed for accurate payment posting.
Reconcile and apply pre-payments to subsequent invoices for Cash in Advance and Paid Programming accounts.
Research overpayments, double payments, and payment posting errors and resolve.
Post all entries to accounts receivable system (WideOrbit) including transfers, write off recoveries, and NSFs.
Collaborate and foster effective communication with team members and other departments.

2 years of experience applying payments to customer accounts in a high-volume environment with payments from various sources
Very detailed oriented and accurate – excellent with keyboard/mouse data entry/selection
Keen abilities to decipher payment remittance documents
Comfortable in a team environment where team support is a must
Ability to quickly learn new software and processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines with professionalism and strong work ethic, as daily work must be completed
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred qualifications:
Two or four-year degree
4 or more years of experience
Experience with electronic bank file import of payments from Lockbox
Experience with payments made by entities different from the account name in accounts receivable
Moderate to Intermediate Excel skills
Broadcast Industry and traffic software experience
Wide Orbit software experience

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the Accounts Payable Manager in overseeing the company Accounts Payable functions and processes in a professional and knowledgeable manner. This position directs and oversees a team of Accounts Payable Specialists and the processes associated with the receiving, processing, and timely payment of supplier invoices. This position ensures company policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to Accounts Payable. This position directly supervises a staff of roughly 4-7 AP Specialists and Sr. AP Specialist(s).Responsibilities:
Perform the payment runs including ACH, Check, and P-Card
Complete Daily supplier audits for their direct reports
Monitor Oracle Queues include Pending and Rejecting
Assist with approving new suppliers and supplier changes
Monitor 1-800 calls and phone status for proper procedures and customer service
Monitor Online Document Center (ODC) to ensure items are resolved in a timely manner
Review and approve check and ACH voids
Assist with 1099 tasks throughout the year as well as year-end preparation and processing
Review supplier database regularly for proper creation and 1099 compliance
Ensure Service Level Agreement deadlines are met
Ensure good customer service is maintained with business units and suppliers
Ensure proper security and controls are in place
Coordinate routine supplier clean-up as needed
Coordinate routine outstanding check and credit reviews
Supervisory:
Supervise staff to ensure suppliers are setup correctly and invoices move through system timely and accurately
React to changes in workload by adjusting staff and resources accordingly
Ensure that all functions are properly cross trained to cover staff absences
Back-up staff functions, security/controls permitting
Establish, administer, and monitor annual development plans for each employee supervised
Mentor and guide staff in areas of improvement

Using research and applying sound brand strategy to develop and execute creative concepts via on-air news promos, station image campaigns, original content, and graphic design.
Providing clear messaging to audience for station and client’s brand.
Working alongside Sales Management, Account Executives, Marketing Producers, Agencies, and clients to produce high level commercial production that gets results.
Working alongside News Management, Creative Manager, Producers, Digital staffers, and Reporters to produce high level news promotions that get results.
Front line employee for the station that represents the brand externally by interacting with clients in person and through all forms of communication and internally by interacting with stakeholders across multiple departments.
Shoot highly- stylized videos for campaigns using DSLR cameras and a variety of lenses and other production tools like sliders, dollies, gimbles, etc.
Highly skilled in Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects to produce high-quality and sophisticated material.

Demonstrated copywriting and scripting ability.

Providing clear messaging to audience for station and client’s brand.
Working alongside Sales Management, Account Executives, Marketing Producers, Agencies, and clients to produce high level commercial production that gets results.
Working alongside News Management, Creative Manager, Producers, Digital staffers, and Reporters to produce high level news promotions that get results.
Front line employee for the station that represents the brand externally by interacting with clients in person and through all forms of communication and internally by interacting with stakeholders across multiple departments.
Shoot highly- stylized videos for campaigns using DSLR cameras and a variety of lenses and other production tools like sliders, dollies, gimbles, etc.
Highly skilled in Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects to produce high-quality and sophisticated material.
Participation in client pitch meetings when asked to help ensure creative vision to help close deals. Participating in News strategy meetings to craft audience messaging.

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, design, or film.
Minimum five years’ experience working in professional video production, preferably a media company and/or Ad Agency working in marketing video creation, promotional assets, commercial production.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Ability to edit both short (:05-:60) and long format (30 to 60 minute) projects.
Demonstrated copywriting and scripting ability.
Write advertising and promotional copy for print, television, and web effectively and without grammar or spelling errors.
Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Exceptional skills in Adobe CC, including photoshop, After Effects, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro
Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record as travel may be required for commercial shoots and production meetings with advertisers of the station.
Must be able to lift, set-up and operate equipment weighting up to 50 pounds

This position will be part of the TEGNA corporate team with company-wide responsibility but will be physically located at our NBC Affiliate in Indianapolis, WTHR. The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for the daily application and reconciliation of payment receipts in a high-volume, centralized team with various payment sources - bank lockbox, electronic payments, and credit card payments utilizing imported files for auto-application and actions taken on exceptions.Responsibilities:
Seek assistance from station personnel when needed for accurate payment posting.
Reconcile and apply pre-payments to subsequent invoices for Cash in Advance and Paid Programming accounts.
Research overpayments, double payments, and payment posting errors and resolve.
Post all entries to accounts receivable system (WideOrbit) including transfers, write off recoveries, and NSFs.
Collaborate and foster effective communication with team members and other departments.

Complete Daily supplier audits for their direct reports
Monitor Oracle Queues include Pending and Rejecting
Assist with approving new suppliers and supplier changes
Monitor 1-800 calls and phone status for proper procedures and customer service
Monitor Online Document Center (ODC) to ensure items are resolved in a timely manner
Review and approve check and ACH voids
Assist with 1099 tasks throughout the year as well as year-end preparation and processing
Review supplier database regularly for proper creation and 1099 compliance
Ensure Service Level Agreement deadlines are met
Ensure good customer service is maintained with business units and suppliers
Ensure proper security and controls are in place
Coordinate routine supplier clean-up as needed
Coordinate routine outstanding check and credit reviews
Supervisory:
Supervise staff to ensure suppliers are setup correctly and invoices move through system timely and accurately
