This 24 hour fitness is easily the cleanest gym in the business. It’s hard work but it’s so worth it, especially because you get to work for free. I was new to the club and I’m not someone who sees work as a place to socialize or make friends so I just jumped in a did my work. This is how I conduct myself on a daily basis. Of course I was cordial but I didn’t participate in the gossip. The rest of the employees spent their days gossiping or simply not doing anything and this was something I noticed. When asked by my manager how things were going with the other janitors I told her that I saw they didn’t do much. That one spent a lot of time on break and the other spent alot of time talking. She said she would talk to them but never did. I also talked to my supervisor about a health issue I had fibromyalgia and told her that I’d need to take more breaks and might need to call in but that I didn’t want her to think that I wasn’t doing my work. Soon after this my supervisor started passive aggressively micromanaging my work. Each day telling me to do something that made no sense in the scope of my job. Also telling me that I didn’t do things that I did in fact do. Gaslighting me. I talked to upper management about this and he said he would talk to her. But the very next day she was doing it again. So I decided to talk to her about it and she was very cold and unprofessional saying that I was taking too many breaks and I wasn’t getting my work done. Which wasn’t true.
