Some management were understanding of autism and how to get the best from staff. My induction was done in a meeting room and I was told I could have a break any time. It was understood I did not work well in offices, and when I did I sometimes required headphones, or specific seating areas to focus and reduce stress. Remote working was accepted. Later management was pressuring me to work in offices despite seeing this and being made aware of issues.
There was a project put in place, following a survey, with working groups, to discuss onboarding, training for higher levels of management and other issues of working with neurodiverse staff, initiated by high management in Vinci. Company meetings and magazines also encourage awareness and acceptance. I hope this improves treatment of differences.
Management training schemes were available I am told did not cover invisible disabilities much and therefore provided little help.
They do have a good policy and initial training but it is only as good as the implementation by line management, and being able to be flexible to get the best from staff.

Whilst some managers were understanding of invisible conditions like autism and how to manage staff, not all were. Some pressured those with autism to work in the office when they were aware it would not work and could cause stress and reduced work output. Staff new to management also showed lack of understanding in managing autistic staff, even though they were aware of the autism. I am not sure how much support they had
