The pro was that hours covered rent and you got to keep 100% of earnings but not any more.

The rent is more than your salary. If you're starting out in the industry, you're paying to work there. This is the second year they've taken money from us, which will probably increase. It's becoming a worse place to work every year. They claim to be a “people” company, then exploit the people helping them run their business.

Gig economy job.. you work to pay your rent you don’t have a salary the money goes up for rent every year and it is taxable income even though it is rental income for the gym group non of the money belongs to you the rental income is the gym groups income . The cost of living payment that was made by the government for all workers in the UK is swallowed up by the rental income . Leaving a deficit of up to £80 to £100 that the fitness trainer has to pay out of their own pocket.

Pay your staff as they are the ones who run the gym and classes, clean the equipment it and do first aid . Sometimes single handed. Without other staff members present or management. Absolutely no empathy or compassion for staff members during the current financial climate.

Your club will be like a second family. They're an amazing group of people to work for.

You have to pay all of your wages back to your employer as "rent", "rent" increases whenever minimum wage increases and your rent is higher than your wages after tax; every month, you have to find an additional circa. £100 to cover the deficit.
