Fun working environment with a variety of different experiences and challenges every day. Management overall is supportive and hours are flexible. Shopping is fun at World Market.

Hours are limited and pay is poor. Training is haphazard and customer service is inconsistent based on too few employees scheduled to work at any given time. Online return policies are quite difficult for customers and employees. Technological equipment needs to be updated and IT department could be improved.

Being owned by a private equity firm is not in the best interests of World Market. Private equity firms primarily care about shareholders at the expense of employees and customers. I don’t want the company to be gutted and laden with debt. If this happens World Market will close. We need to be sold to another company that will care about us staying in business. It does not reassure me that our current CEO used to run Pier One, which filed for bankruptcy and closed their brick and mortar operations. I feel like under his guidance he will run World Market out of business.
