Below average pay and benefits. The most needed benefits are not covered. Management is terrible along with IT and HR dept that do not want to help you. Unaccommodating and very inefficient work is done here. There is no technology advancement and they do play favorites. You take 10 steps to do 1 thing because of the lack of technology and everything is still old school. Company wants to spend as little as possible which in return means you are overworked, underpaid, unappreciated, and will barely get by. Keep your head down and no socialization culture, eat at your desk and continue working. This job is good for just experience but not long term. Training is minimal and almost every dept is severely understaffed.

I’ve worked for Cathay Bank for almost 8 years and have seen the bank grow in a positive direction. The department I work with is very diverse and an amazing group of people to work with. I always feel supported by my manager. If you work hard and do good work, it will not go unnoticed. I’ve been promoted to VP and truly feel thankful for the opportunity given to me.

Short-staffed, most departments stretched to the limit
|
The younger ones who can leave, leave. Most people who are left working in stress are the older ones waiting to retire. Inflexible working culture and vacation procedures. Poor medical benefits - I worked six jobs before and this is the first company I feel I have trouble affording PPO insurance. People work really hard because most often one person has to work multiple people's jobs. There is no training, most experience were gained "hands-on," but there's plenty opportunity to learn if you are willing to. Most people are nice.

Don’t work here period. Only good thing is they have decent insurance benifits. Other than that, pay is below average, and the knowledge you learn here cannot be applied elsewhere.

The amazement didn't come from the part where you would get non-stop lobby traffic, lining up out on the street with/without the six feet pandemic. "Doing lunch" would be a mandatory top priority for the employee(s) to be in compliance with the laws. Breaks were easy tasks, you wouldn't get in trouble for not taking any. The idea of AIO universal banker from the 90's had been in favor, over the past 3-4 years. Now, you would have a chance to learn some legendary sales techniques to entertain your customers, while they were waiting for your windows 7 core...10 system. Remember your job was to take customer service to the highest level on the customer survey, you would work efficiently with total client's satisfactory, while moving the assembly line quickly. You would also learn that your salary was very expensive; that, it couldn't have came from customer service. But don't you worry, you should have a full understanding of your client financial profoilo logged on your clients management in that good old 3 minutes you had. With info & excellent tools given to you, chances of not making perfect sales with profits to keep your job would be slim.

I did not enjoy working there at all because of the heavy workload and under-average salary. But good for entry-level people to build up experiences. The management group is very nice to us.
