Lots and lots of rules for workers there

A typical day at work for a dealer with low seniority:
Horrible hours, I worked mostly 11:40pm to 7:40am with no early outs.
Other low Seniority worked 9:40pm to 5:40am Once in a while early outs
I learned how to do Hand Held Baccarat. Any game that had $50 minimum, the cards were given to the players to open
I HATED the management team. They all seemed to forget they started out as table game dealers just like me. Very strict, no compassion, and patience.
The culture was kind of fun, unless you're players were losing. Usually when you get to you're table to start your 8 hour shift, more than half the players at your table have been there for hours and lost most of their money. When that happens, they don't tip, even tho you weren't the dealer that took their money. And the players will be crabby, rude, impatient, etc. when they've been there for hours and blame the dealer for them losing.
The hardest part of being a dealer is developing thick skin so you don't take anything personally and to let the insults roll off of you while keeping a good attitude thru it all.
The best part of being a dealer, for me, is paying out money to a winning player AND that they don't gamble it all back and go home.

PTO's add up quick if you have perfect attendance every month, half a point drops off every month for perfect attendance
|
Having to make up how much time the dealer before was late for break, have to pay $3 for lunch, the lunch menu NEVER changed unless it was a holiday, small employee bathrooms, and you are not ever to say something negative while on the Casino floor, the supervisors will actually tell the shift lead about it, I couldn't trust any member of management, I couldn't even release some steam, away from the guests, without getting told on

Training is Substandard & Benefits Suck
|
The training alloyed to Security Officers at Caesars is substandard compared to MGM Resorts. Also Caesars makes you pay for your own equipment, TAM, Gaming cards and other licenses you need while MGM Resorts paid for all of it. Benefits are better working for MGM Resorts as well

Worked for Caesars for nearly 20 years. The place was awesome when it was owned by Harrah's Entertainment and is despicable now that it is owned by Eldorado.

Supervisors and staff are awesome, pay is alright but no way to move up. The only way to move up is if you move out of the department. Overall, I enjoyed my experience
