<p><strong>The Role: </strong></p>
<p>The Process Engineer will be based at the Swindon Patheon Facility in the UK and provide full technical support to Flexion’s FX006 product and SWC3 plant, which operates under the Patheon condominium model. They will take the lead for Flexion on technical aspects of process and plant investigations and improvements on the current manufacturing line, as well as being one of the client representatives for the planned capacity investment.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provide technical leadership and support to Patheon for the commercial manufacture of FX006.</li>
<li>Through full partnership with Patheon, ensure that technical and capital project goals are delivered to promise (quality, cost and time).</li>
<li>Perform trend analysis and develop corrective actions to support and improve CMO performance.</li>
<li>Design, execute and interpret experimental results to maintain or improve commercial manufacturing performance.</li>
<li>Input into documents for regulatory submissions (e.g. INDs, NDAs, SOPs, STMs, batch records, qualification and validation protocols and reports)</li>
<li>Apply the knowledge, skills and experience obtained to increase efficiency in solving new problems and optimize manufacturing processes.</li>
<li>Develop and foster cooperative working relationships with other departments (e.g. QC, QA, process development).</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p><strong>Education:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Qualified to a degree or equivalent level in a relevant scientific or engineering subject</li>
<li>Advanced degree (MS or PhD) and ASQ, CQA, PMP certification would be preferred</li>
</ul>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrable delivery of Technical and Capital projects in the pharmaceutical Industry</li>
<li>Experience in pharmaceutical commercial manufacturing, equipment trouble shooting, and commercial product technical transfers is highly desirable</li>
<li>Able to develop and participate in key processes including: audits, CMO questionnaires, issuance of Corrective Action Requests, and the CMO Performance Rating programs.</li>
<li>Good organizational and communication skills</li>
<li>High level of self-direction and motivation; ability to achieve personal and corporate goals working in a location remote from other management colleagues</li>
<li>Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to make decisions without recourse to others</li>
<li>Able to build and foster strong relationships/partnerships with suppliers and CMOs</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation.</li>
