The individuals at each of the locations work well together and make you feel like part of the team. The bank tries to be very involved in the community. There is flexibility in your role and your progress is (mostly) at your own pace.

Lots of turnover. At some locations, it is very busy and lots of stress. Frontline workers don't always seem to get the understanding or support from the operations and customer service teams.

Coworkers. Many are hardworking, kind, and helpful. Management encourages you to take PTO. PTO itself is okay. Get less than my previous job, but it's more than some banks. They understand that family is important and will work with your schedule. They encourage diversity. The bank offers sponspored financial courses. Insurance is okay.

Used to be better advancement opportunities. Not currently focused on progressing individuals. Slowly starting to open some jobs for the Joplin market, but much room to grow. Essentially the role of a Universal Banker. However, the pay for a specific role, such as PBR or lending, is much better at other banks. You do gain experience through this, but the pay and empowerment is lacking for what you do and your ability to truly assist customers. Since merger, communication between departments is struggling. Assistance is sometimes difficult to come by, which is not always ideal in customer-facing situations. Bank used to be much more transparent and open with communication but now doesn't educate before changes are made, provide updates, and treats everything as a need-to-know basis.

Many are leaving due to the lack of advancement and progression. Many have the capabilities and experience to take on higher roles, but management is not consulting individuals to complete/confirm items. Keep retail/customer-facing informed rather than making changes and then letting everyone know.

Sales incentives are pretty bad. Depending on your branch, you may have a manager that hounds you about sales to the point of turning you into an android who pitches something to every single customer.
