They were friendly and great to work with until upper management stepped in and got involved. Executive management is extremely appearance oriented. The executives get great bonuses and compensation while the rest of the staff is compensated poorly. They’ll cover this up by doing special jean days or drop in to give you a cookie and claiming to create a safe fun environment for their employees. But don’t ask to work from home to help cover your kids schooling during COVID. Most back office employees are extremely unhappy, overworked, underpaid, and scared to say anything for fear of ending up in the dog house with the bank. I joined the bank thinking I found a great place to grow and further my career. Instead I became bitter, callous, and frustrated due to the politics of the bank and upper management. Save yourself the time and the frustration and work elsewhere. I have always wanted to be part of something bigger that has a deeper sense of purpose and clear community impact. I love how the bank invests time, energy, and money into the local community. I enjoy the close-knit family feeling while also having a high accountability culture where we are always asking, "how can we continue to get better?" Overall strategic goals and direction are discussed and then each department gets to see how it plays into the larger goals for the bank as a whole. Questions are posed at quarterly town halls and answers are steered away from the actual question, leaving employees frustrated and dissatisfied. Teller pay was increased, but the pay increases have not made their way up the ladder. They have meetings all the time and nothings changes. They plan fun work trips for upper management monthly and might buy lunch for regular staff once a month. If you are good in one position you will most likely never get hired for any other position, they will hire out of the bank.
