It's ok
|
The office was beautiful in Fort Mill. Many people seemed to be unsure if what we did day to day, which made the day a little chaotic. I would start do an assignment then told that I needed to quit it and start a totally different assignment. If you asked management for something they were always willing to help.

Was not happy with the management. promotions not available to everyone and you get lost in the shuffle of re-orgs. Building is nice people are decent. Culture is off and not good.

You are on your own.
|
LPL is fine as long as you know going in that support will be minimal. It will be on you to succeed or not. Most joining understands this so it shouldn't be a problem.

Great place to advance but get ready to be overworked
|
From the very beginning the work was overwhelming. The company has always struggled with executing on its deliverables so that translates into poor training, inadequate resources, overstaffing to cover extreme call volume and poor technology to hedge against volume. The company itself is great, especially if you have a hero mentality. Because of all of the chaos, if you can produce creative solutions quickly, you will be recognized and promoted fairly quickly. There are also a lot of employee resource groups there which makes getting involved in things easy. However, once that promotion comes, get ready for more things to get piled on top of you. The organization seems to be going through a change now for the better however, not fast enough for me. What I don't look forward to there is that many people work 45+ hour weeks, easily and even on vacation, you're thinking about all the work that will be there when you return. Nice on site facilities with gyms and cafeteria but doesn't seem worth it.

Overall, really good with
|
The set up is really nice and the facility is gorgeous. The actual work is the hard part - the calls from advisors are often stressful and unfortunately, i feel there is enough management or support to help everyone. Communication is often lost in translation, if there is any communication at all. Emails about policy updates usually come after the fact and by that time we're all pretty confused about what is happening. Upper, upper management seems to think that a gym in the building or a break room with coffee available will help offset the stress on the phones when all we really want is better communication. Other than that, it's a very secure building, they go crazy for halloween (which is fine with me) and the coworkers are very friendly. The cafeteria is amazing as well.
|
Great campus, minutes from the beach, cafeteria onsite, Starbucks.
|
communication regarding policy updates is delayed, if it happens at all.

Great culture and upper management that cares.
|
This company has a lot of positives going for it. It has a great culture and upper management that really shows they care. How they have handled the covid 19 has been truly amazing.
|
Great campus, Good work life balance, Amazing company culture, Very inclusive, They are flexible with working remote, and Allow you to get investment licenses.
|
Pay is not as high as some of the other big companies around, Licenses can be limiting, And not a lot of career advancement.

Good benefits, Top Heavy
|
● Work-life balance
This company is not sensitive or flexible with working parents who have difficulties and challenges during the school year and COVID.
● Pay & benefits
They have RTO, "Routine Time Off" for anyone in a manager or senior level, uo to 30 days annually. They have PTO for all other employees, which must be accrued and may be used for sick or planned time away. They offer 16 hours of Volunteer Time Off. They have bereavement leave up to 3 days for immediate family. The problem is that when you do take the time off all of your work and then some is waiting on you upon your return. It's not worth taking time off. You are expected to line up your own back-up while OOO. It's just not worth it.
● Job security and advancement
Every year they promise training but then there is always more work and not enough time or staff so training typically goes by the way side and more work!
● Management
There are some managers that are great at this organization. The manager I had picked favorites and made the work environment harder for anyone else who confronted her.
● Culture
They promote their DE&I culture through Employee Resource Groups. The problem is they don't give these groups large budgets to work with nor are they going in the direction of a Business Resource Groups. I think it's a missed opportunity as they should be more present in the community.
● Overall
This company is a great place for technology and finance careers. They do not have a great Service model and the service employees are overworked and underpaid. The HR team is unlike any I've ever seen. They advocate for management and employees' voices are not as "loud." They tend to give more work than can be accomplished in an 8 hour day. If you enjoy work more than your personal life, this is the place for you! There's not much balance, otherwise. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. Great benefits though!

Depends on what motivates you the most...
|
If stability and helping others is your biggest reward/target for the day, then this is definitely where you want to be. My tenure at LPL has allowed me to grow and stretch in areas that I did not foresee; this has indeed been one of the toughest positions I've ever had. I now live for those ah-hah moments when hard issues are finally resolved! However, the low compensation has always been a topic of discussion throughout the firm since I've been here. Although resolutions are rewarding, the pay makes it all less desirable. The merit increases have been minute, and some don't get them at all

A productive and relaxing environment but bad for contract work
|
My contract with LPL was very rewarding for me during covid-19. It was a great learning experience and the pay rate was great, but when I wouldn't recommend working there as a contractor if they say things like hiring you if you if you do a great job because they will throw you away without a care. If you want to secure employment with them, I honestly would say you should look somewhere else.
|
Great work enviorment, amazing cafeteria, good learning experience, excellent pay rate
|
Not a good place for contract work, no days off, false promises of employment
