This job offers decent pay, but as a sleep expert, you face numerous challenges. Competition among colleagues and management for favorable schedules is fierce, often leaving you with less desirable shifts. Managers prioritize their own schedules, avoiding closing shifts or non-profitable days. There's constant uncertainty about work locations, with sudden changes often requiring you to work in different places with little notice. This lack of stability makes it difficult for those with family commitments, leading to virtually no work-life balance. Additionally, managers often keep staff working even during slow periods to maintain their sales targets, further straining work-life balance. Also Corporate defines and dictates all things except what day to day terminology. What is a sales opportunity can vary form store to store and often decide what is favorable for the managers.

Mattress Firm spends a great deal of time and money to develop and grow your sales skills, product knowledge, and customer interactions. You will live or die by your sales numbers. If you work in a busy store, you'll be relatively safe. If you work in a slower store, you better hustle. If your District Manager and/or Senior Store Manager have half a brain, you'll also be good. Easily 50%, however, will toss their own mother into a pit to make themselves look better to the eyes of corporate. Your average workday will have lots of spare time to occupy yourself with.
