In addition to becoming experts on core legal issues such as data licensing, PitchBook Legal Council have the opportunity to work on a diverse set of commercial and regulatory legal issues.Primary Job Responsibilities:Work with sales and product management personnel to structure, draft, review, analyze and negotiate complex data licenses commercial partnerships, media agreements, and other outbound commercial contracts related to the products and services PitchBook makes available to its clients in the United States and abroadWork with PitchBook’s internal stakeholders to review and negotiate data licensing, software, consulting, IT and related contracts with company vendorsAdvise on information security, privacy, and related issues, including GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act and other lawsProvide practical, decisive guidance to business development, business operations, marketing and finance teams that balances business objectives and legal riskAdvise on industry, commercial, IP, privacy, employment and other laws, regulations and developments relating to PitchBook’s worldwide businessAs needed, work with PitchBook’s sister businesses, Morningstar’s corporate functions and external counsel in connection with litigation, real estate matters, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring activities and other similar projectsSupport the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviorsParticipate in various company initiatives and projects as requestedSkills and Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experienceAt least 2-5 years of Post Qualification Experience as in-house counsel or similar role and a valid practising certificateProven drafting and analytical skillsDemonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projects in a fast-moving environmentProficiency with the MS Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easilyIf you are ready to start the conversation about how you might contribute to all the happenings at PitchBook, submit your resume today!
