Management doesn't have a good understanding of digital media. Plus, hard to get sales unless people who buy believe in the far right agenda. Conservative values in all their content. During my tenure as a Media Strategist, I encountered a few challenges that impacted the efficiency of our work. One notable setback was the absence of essential tools like Salesforce, media monitors, and dedicated research teams equipped with data. This lack of resources limited our ability to compete effectively in the market. Moreover, our CRM system, tailored for radio rather than digital, felt severely outdated and often hindered our efforts. The expectation to make numerous calls without the opportunity to visit potential clients in person highlighted a traditional mindset that favored office-bound cold calling over face-to-face client interactions, which could have been more impactful. If cold calling if your main way to generate leads, this is a great position for it. Furthermore, the conduct of the sales manager towards certain team members was concerning. Instances of yelling and the use of demeaning language during sales meetings created an uncomfortable atmosphere and detracted from a collaborative working environment. Support your sales team with salesforce, media monitors, research teams to generate stories with actual data to use while prospecting. Encourage teams to see clients face to face. Be flexible and encourage at least 1 day per week to be work from home. Recognize your problem of the continual turnover from sales people that keep coming and going. There's a reason they don't stick around. Delisted by NASDAQ, selling off assets/stations, desperate sales management, bipolar office environment, mostly negative sales meetings berating sales when they've been on board only several weeks:) Reeked of desperation. accusatory, you know nothing, they know everything. Misrepresented the oppty. compensation, time in office. Also, a selling sales manager is never a positive, poaching, zero transparency. You're essentially an entry-level business development rep feeding opps to mgmt. Then because they're under so much pressure they skip steps in the sales process to get deals in by the end of the month jeopardizing the entire deal. Meanwhile, corporate training is outcome strategic selling, not transactional sales. Look out if the oppty goes beyond three calls, all hell will break loose. They also outsource some of the key services that you sell, don't even do it in-house. Heck you can go 1099 and partner up and do that on your own if you want to start an agency.
