Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting a Universal Banker.  If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for processing a variety of financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, and loan payments. You will balance cash drawer, counting currency and coin accurately. You will assist customers in determining the types of account that will meet their financial needs. You will also open and process all types of deposit and loan accounts including complex retail products such as consumer loans, VISA merchant accounts, and small business loans; cross-sell other bank services and refers customers to other departments as appropriate; answer questions and/or resolves complex technical problems on customer accounts; provide exceptional client service and you will comply with all Federal, State, and local consumer protection laws governing loan origination.

Required Skills:


BA Degree in Finance, Business or related field or equivalent work experience in a financial institution.

About The Job

Responsible for portfolio administration and servicing of commercial loans. Duties include administrative support to the Department Executive Manager, Division Manager, Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers. Administrator will provide the only line of back-up support to Portfolio Managers as it relates to client contact/inquiries.

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES;

1. Portfolio Administration


Provides support to Relationship Managers by answering questions, resolving administration issues and maintaining timely and accurate reporting. Assists with properly processing overdrafts, loan bookings, preparing and collecting report information, account status changes and following up on the collection of past due payments and financial information. Monitors loans past due and coming due for maturity. Assists with closings for new and renewed loans. This includes coordinating all loan closings with attorneys; 2nd review of all attorney prepared commitment letters and documents; 2nd review of title work; preparation of commitment letters; preparation of environmental engagement letters; conducting loan closings (as comfortable); research tax liens, judgments and levies. Assist Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers with managing the appraisal ordering and review process.

2. Maintenance and Servicing


Maintains the quality of credit files and document files. Servicing existing portfolio of clients by preparing and executing loan disbursements and advances; executing wire transfers; coordinates opening of accounts as necessary; providing problem resolution; receiving and answering direct or indirect inquiries from clients. Second review all loan documentation prior to closing to ensure completeness and accuracy. Obtains information necessary to clear document exceptions and past due financial information. Coordinates with Portfolio Managers on any attorney settled loans.

3. Division Support

Providing administrative support for Dept. Executive Manager, Division Manager and Team Leader in such areas as tracking and reporting business development activities and results (Relationship Builder), SLC package preparation, needed, delinquency reports (produce & distribute), etc; assist with coordination of divisional meetings; perform account lookups for pricing and loan summary sheets.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES;

1.  Position requires a broad level of professional experience in related field with work experience in commercial lending support; knowledge of commercial loan documentation and lending principles.

2. Ability to utilize standard PC based software to prepare correspondence, reports and other documents as needed.

3. Strong communication skills needed to effectively work with diverse groups of internal/external clients to explain products and interpret policy.

4. A high level of problem solving skills is required; situations require operational knowledge of the work and the unit, which may involve a range of possible solutions to problems.

5. Work is under minimal supervision, where the work requires independent judgment in the interpretation of existing policies and procedures and the selection of alternative procedures and work routines. Alternatives may be limited or not well defined.

ABOUT THE JOB:

West Financial is currently recruiting a Relationship Manager.  If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for a team of professionals that provides client guidance on investment policy, portfolio allocation, security selection and implementation, and all financial planning issues such as goal identification, cash flow and wealth transfer strategies, charitable efforts, real estate activities, and legacy matters.  The Relationship Manager manages, maintains and deepens relationships with the team’s clients to achieve consistent client service, develops new business and promotes growth and profitability of the firm. 

 

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

1.   Relationship Management:  As the primary point of contact, the RM is responsible for ongoing client communication and investment reviews. Supervises implementation of the investment strategy as outlined in the Investment Policy Guidelines and provides financial planning advice on an ongoing basis.

 

2.   Business Development:  Cultivates and maintains relationships with numerous sources of new business, including company officials, attorneys, accountants, and other centers of influence. Meets with prospects to explain company services.  Prepares and delivers proposals to prospective clients.  Maintains prospect tracking system and participates and supports development of the WFS marketing program.

 

3.   Investment Policy and Market Research:  Assists in the development of company short and long-term investment policies and strategies based on management investment philosophy and client investment objectives. Keeps informed of developments in the security markets. Participates in Investment Committee meetings and decisions as well as contributes to Daily Strategy meetings.

 

4.   Leadership and Mentoring:  Provides routine coaching, training and assistance to staff to develop knowledge, skills and abilities to maximize performance and potential.  Assists in performance reviews and with SEC compliance reporting requirements, as directed.

 

SCOPE OF AUTHORITY:

 

Job function has significant effect on the company and a major impact within area of responsibility.  Authority to operate with significant latitude within the broad framework of company policy.  Incumbent works in close consultation with top management at WFS.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 

1.   Position requires excellent analytical ability and problem solving skills, good judgment, and personal integrity.  A bachelor’s degree or higher in finance or related field, a CFP®,CFA, CPA, or JD designation and a thorough knowledge of stocks, mutual funds, U.S. Treasuries, agencies and municipal bonds is desired. 

 

2.   A minimum of five years work related experience is required, including experience in financial planning principles, equity and fixed income investments. 

 

3.   Requires extensive internal and external contacts at all levels involving a high degree of diplomacy, tact, judgment, timing and persuasion. Self-starter with strong organizational skills. 

 

4.   Professional and articulate with strong attention to detail. Ability to communicate complex information from diverse sources in an organized manner.  Ability to write statements of broad policy. Ability to make effective presentations of proposals and recommendations before internal and external audiences at all levels.  

 

5.   High level problem-solving skills are required; problems are technically complex and require the collection, interpretation, and analysis of data from diverse sources. 

 

6.   Proficient computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and other platforms.

West Financial is currently recruiting a Senior Financial Planner.  If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for preparing financial plans and managing the planning process, as well as developing a marketing plan to build on existing business.  The Senior Financial Planner will provide support to the Director of Financial Planning and Retirement Plan Services by executing specific tasks related to comprehensive financial planning and retirement plan consulting services, maintaining client relationships, and developing additional work product as required.
