Management only recognizes the large volume stores, of which there are only 3. Everyone else has to do more work, more phone calls to make half the pay. Commission structure used to be more even, as it was based on percent to goal. Since Covid-19, there is no chance to make equivalent compensation. You will only make money and only matter if you are in a high traffic location. You are penalized for being in a challenging location, but can’t move up since you are not high volume. They expect the same productivity from ghost town locations, and won’t accept any truth about traffic. Team of peers is close and friendly. We all support each other like family. Overall Sleep Number is a great place to work, the pay is great and it’s like working with your family. If you perform well you can get promoted very quickly. I was pregnant and in the hospital for months because of it and I was terminated. This is a great company in order to get your foot in the door of sales, with a high tiered commission structure and great benefits offered with the job. However, this definitely comes at a cost to your work/life balance. Hours are long and boring, so you may be tempted to take a nap. Also, be prepared to never spend the holidays with your family again, since those are the times for the biggest sales and your time off is blacked out. Pay used to be good, until COVID hit, then sales slowed down and they changed the commission structure from 2% to 10%(Depending on how much you sold, this could be a very large check), down to an even 3.5% per sale.
