All the good leaders have left or been removed - next Wells Fargo
|
All the good leaders have moved on. They donât care about good people or leaders that care about people. Their score card and widget counting is hard. Letting good leaders go and hiring a bunch of product pushing regions bank leaders.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Management listens to employeesâ concerns, and addressed them quickly. They were flexible and supportive.

The threshold you had to meet to get paid commission. They realized this was a challenge after rates rose, so they have made adjustments to the threshold to make it more attainable.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very professional with a touch of family.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Calling leads and preparing rate quotes.

Over worked and disgruntled
|
When I first started I was nervous and excited, just like any new hire would be. Everyone was friendly and super welcoming. From my experience I never saw any true workplace drama which was great. I learned a lot here and I will definitely carry the tools Iâve gathered with me to my new job. But then, things were great until they werenât! Things went from kind and helpful to constant passive aggressive emails and unfair treatment. Multiple weeks with no lunch, forced to cancel or reschedule appointments because of short staffing; Any type of customer service job can be stressful, so a break is needed. Of course most people call in irate, and sometimes it can be a bit much, when things get out of hand youâd expect your super to try and help with the call, but nope not at Simmons! In short you were told to suck it up, let the customer talk to you any kind of way and move on! Also there were some days where you couldnât even get a ten minute break if the phones were busy, let alone a lunch break. Weâd get told, âHey guys, weâre going to work through lunch today/the rest of the week.â With a plastered smile. Itâs not the associates fault that the company is short staffed and I donât believe they shouldâve been punished for that. The manager would try and smooth things over with buying all of the workers lunch, but it wouldnât do much good when there was literally no time to eat it. Meanwhile the manager would be sitting in the office door closed in âmeetingsâ. But aside from all of that my time there, I absolutely loved the team lead, they were very helpful and tried to ease tension. The list of reasons to NOT work there is a lot longer than the list of reasons why you should! But good luck if you give it a shot, hopefully your experience is much better!

Good company
|
Very community friendly bank. They are involved in the local areas and care about their employees. Definitely sales/quota driven like most banks are nowadays though.

Ok place to start career
|
I learned a lot and was very supported in the beginning. Towards the end the atmosphere was tangible and catty. Typical day was good though. A lot of broken promises from leaders and a lot of realizing that only you have your back in this industry.

Favoritism
|
No help from upper management. Presidents only care about sales, not the employees. Presidents have issues with favortism. Presidents undermining other presidents to lower level employees. No integrity. No training. DRAMA! Bonuses are a joke. Bonus structures were changed every quarter. Constantly in a fight to get employees what they needed. Rude home office. Made serious errors with employees pay, Shorted pay. Could care less about employees. You better get those sales, even if you don't have the resources to properly do so. Will never recommend, in any manner.

Terrible pay and unrealistic standards
|
In a role that requires you to do the job of three different positions all in one but making less, super sales oriented they say they value their customers but push unnecessary products on them to meet a goal to get a pay out because everyone is so underpaid they have to rely on that to make any money but they set high sales goals and make it unachievable so you don’t get a full pay out. Feel super undervalued and not appreciated you are just another money maker to them.

Sell sell sell
|
Cold calls and pushing products is the Simmons way. Want to advance in your job? You better out sell all the other employees at any cost. Ever been to a bank that has super long drive through lines because one of the drive through tellers is busy making phone calls? Must have been a Simmons!
