Not a lot of career growth or internal mobility—even laterally. Programs and training push "taking control of your career," but if managers and the people team don't support hiring from within, promotions, job rotations, etc., there's not much you can do to advance on your own.
Promotions are extremely hard to come by. There's no real consistency in who gets promoted or why.
The hierarchy is strong and management can get surprisingly micro-"managey.'
It takes a long time for a proposed change or idea to move forward. There's no, hey, let's give that a go, and if it doesn't work, we'll try something else or go back to the way it was.
