WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for enthusiastic and talented individuals who thrive on challenge and change, who can roll up their sleeves, put on multiple hats and have a can-do attitude without a lot of oversight or instruction.

This individual contributes to analytical method development & qualification and QC-releasing test for supporting CMC activities. This position will design and perform experiments, interprets data and write reports, and supervises junior research associate. Work independently under minimal supervision while performing the following method development and/or qualification: LC-MS, SEC, IEX and RP-HPLC, Peptide mapping, icIEF, and CE-SDS etc.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

-Independently plan, design, initiate and conduct analytical related experiments in support of product development and project goals.

-Develop and validate stage appropriate analytical methods, such as HPLCs, icIEF, CE-SDS, etc. for testing of DS and DP. Demonstrate a high level of professional expertise in one or more technical areas.

-Experience working with characterization of proteins, antibodies, and associated analytical methods.

-Present results of work, interprets data, and draws conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work.

-Author reports, protocols, test methods, and other documentation.

-Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory equipment.

-Deliver high quality results in an accurate and a time sensitive manner.

 Qualifications:

-PhD (with 0~2+ years of industrial experience) in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or other related field of science.

-Thorough knowledge and experience in HPLC and other stability-indicating method development and validation, such as HPLCs, icIEF, CE-SDS, etc. HPLCs include different modes of chromatography such as ion-exchange, size exclusion, hydrophobic interaction. Familiar with Agilent or Vanquish HPLC equipment and Chemstation or Lab solutions software.

-Experience in working at GLP and GMP controlled environment would be preferred.

-Experience in LC-MS experience is a plus.

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Associate who will be responsible for performing Upstream manufacturing tasks. Including but not limited to:

-Tracking & control of raw material inventory

-Maintenance and operation of equipment in cGMP facilities

-Preparation of buffer and media

-Assistance in operation of single use bioreactors for production of clinical and commercial products.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

-Control and track raw material inventory

-Maintain and clean clean-room facility and equipment

Performs daily monitoring of equipment and assist Facilities and Engineering personnel as necessary on equipment maintenance calibration

-Prepare media and buffer solutions

-Maintain cell culture flasks using good aseptic technique

-Assist in the operation of Single-Use Bioreactors, including the Wave Cellbag bioreactors And HyPerforman 100L, 500L, and 2000L systems

-Review and revise current cGMP, Bath Production Records, SOPs, protocols and reports

-Provide support to cross-functional teams to meet production or timeline demands

-Demonstrate understanding in technical operations, safety and cGMP

-Ensure the completeness and accuracy of manufacturing documentation per approved procedures

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering strongly preferred

-1 to 3 years in cGMP environment with experience in GMP production including aseptic processing is a plus

-Familiarity with cGMP, manufacturing and data entry

-Demonstrated ability to follow detailed directions in a manufacturing cGMP environment

-Must be familiar with Word and Excel

Summary

The Marketing Director is responsible for helping to drive profitable revenue growth of the business and will develop and roll out strategies to help the team to exceed forecasted targets.  Will work closely with cross-functional team members and has both strategic and tactical responsibility for supporting brand activities, including HCP marketing, medical marketing, digital medial plan, agency management, patient programs and key opinion leader (KOL) management.

About the role:

The individual will lead the Product Marketing department in the development, market analysis and implementation of the strategic brand plan for Scilex’s PHN product ZTlido.  The Product Director will collaborate with other functional areas including Regulatory Affairs, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Clinical and other internal groups and external agencies to develop and implement product strategies and tactics that are responsive to customer needs, consistent with market opportunities and ultimately deliver on the product and company goals.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

  • Lead, develop and manage brand strategies and tactical execution of marketing initiatives. Communicate brand strategies and performance regularly to senior management.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of the product launch plan, including pre-launch readiness activities that engage potential customers and help to accelerate launch adoption potential.
  • Build broader awareness and demand amongst the customer segments
  • Develop and execute against promotional strategy and tactical plans targeting US based Pain Specialists and other HCPs involved with the treatment of PHN.
  • Develop budget to support marketing plan and mange projects to budgets
  • Analyze market data and trends to provide detailed recommendations in support of market maximization efforts and potential.
  • Work with Sales Leadership and Senior Management to craft and implement focused sales campaigns throughout the year including, campaign development, and support of customer facing personnel through the heart of the campaign
  • Identify and lead the strategy with internal marketing team, sales team, key opinion leaders and physician customers to identify and evolve marketing programs that incorporate a variety of formats such as live forums and web-based programs to achieve brand goals and objectives.
  • Monitor performance metrics, diagnose areas for improvement, develop and implement recommendations.  Prepare monthly/quarterly reports: forecasts, marketing meeting and customer trend analysis.
  • Brand lead on: Day to day agency and vendor management, marketing materials development including production quantities and inventory mgt, digital assets including HCP & patient materials, websites and other projects as needed
  • Create and develop materials through collaboration with external agencies and internal partners in support of brand efforts.
  • Manage PRC process gaining approval for marketing materials through the Company’s promotional review process and adhere to established SOPs while ensuring that all marketing activities are in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements
  • Partners with the field sales force to understand resource gaps and opportunities through building strong relationships and participating in field rides.
  • Identify and manage advertising and promotion budgets; develop and monitor relevant metrics to ensure program success. Communicates performance tracking as necessary.
  • Manage partnerships and strategic alliances to drive synergistic value.
  • Liaise with KOLs by attending congress meetings, advisory board programs, and representing company at other events if needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be adaptable and able to work well, and relate effectively with people at all organization levels
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA a plus.
  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical product marketing experience. Relevant industry experience in other roles (such as Sales leadership, Market Research, Advertising Agency, etc.) and/or healthcare segments may allow for flexibility in required years of marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability of leading in a matrixed environment where you led teams of individuals that did not report to them visible projects for the organization with demonstrated outcomes.
  • Experience in pain or neurology a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, taking on lead project roles.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Strategic, passionate, self-starter.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

  • Working experience in life science industry will be a plus

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

 

Perform routine maintenance tasks including: plumbing repairs, painting, office furniture installation, general building repairs, replace light bulbs, cleaning, building exteriors and other as assigned. Perform Routine Preventive Maintenance work orders and assist in utility operations. Ensure clean rooms and general facility is maintained in optimum conditions and in compliance with GMP requirements. Maintain a safe work environment; work in a safe manner following all safety SOP’s and wear Personal Protective Equipment as required Maintain accurate records keeping equipment and systems cGMP compliant Work independently and make sound judgments regarding work methods and tools. Assist in all facility services including physical security, waste removal, recycling, central services, office furnishings and office equipment. Monitors contractor’s performance and work closely with outside vendors to ensure work is completed according to specifications. Ensure manufacturing and laboratory personnel are supported to meet business needs, including: compressed gas management, preventive maintenance, equipment service contracts and safety equipment as required Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirement. Maintain your training file current Receive gasses and check status daily. Rotating weekend facility checks.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We have a great five month assignment! The purpose of the Human Resources Generalist is to act as a trusted resource for designated employees and/or departments by implementing, administering, and maintaining a variety of HR programs and providing support at various levels within the organization. The Human Resource Generalist will work closely with and report to the Director of Human Resources.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Benefits/HRIS:

  • Assist employees with all benefit questions or concerns
  • Oversee and manages day-to-day benefit operations including implementation, open enrollment, administration and communication of the organization benefits/wellness programs, and 401k
  • Complete weekly and monthly audits of benefits records and proactively resolve potential discrepancies
  • Evaluate, design and recommend benefit programs based on overall effectiveness, benchmarks, market assessment, business strategy and cost impact 
  •  Serves as point of contact for brokers, carriers, and EDI representatives, involved in the benefits programs, including acting as the plan administrator.

 

 Manage PlanSource:

  • Ensure that there are no outstanding Life Event Enrollments
  • Work with employees and review supporting documentation before approving
  • Work with EDI team if there are any issues with enrollments, file feeds, reports or updates to departments/locations
  • Reconcile monthly invoices
  • Work with Finance if there are any discrepancies or retros
  • Manage compliance and legal requirements for ERISA plans including but not limited to, plan audits, 5500’s SPD’s and plan documentation
  •  Design and implement wellness program; propose program improvement as needed
  • Work with outside vendors to ensure yearly schedule is created and payment is aligned with wellness budget
  • Manage vendor relationships including benefits consultants, brokers, third party administrators and other external service providers by building strong relationships
  •  Oversee all aspects of Leave of Absence, time off and Workers' Compensation programs, including reporting processes, claim management, and return to work
  •   Ensure compliance with all applicable State and Federal benefit regulations

 

HRIS:

  • Manage the HRIS
  • Provides technical support on HRIS
  • Manage the testing and maintenance of new or modified human resources systems to meet the organization’s ongoing needs
  • Develops reports, including audit reports to ensure accuracy of data
  • Maintains HRIS records and compiles reports from BambooHR

 

Talent Acquisition:

  • Lead recruitment efforts
  • Meet with hiring managers to ensure position is properly classified, determine salary range and job description is accurate for posting
  •   Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews and in-person interviews, schedule interviews, negotiate offer with candidate and create offer letters

 

Employee Relations:

  •  Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build engagement, increase productivity and retention
  •  Conduct investigations as needed
  •   Provides consultation and recommendations to staff and managers in the interpretation of policies and procedures, including conducting training/educational sessions to staff and managers

Compensation:

  • Assist in planning, developing and implementing the overall salary administration program.
  • Assist in the annual compensation planning process, including merit and annual incentive plans.
  • Develop job descriptions, analyzes jobs, conduct salary surveys and job evaluations, and establishing a salary structure.
  • Monitor current and upcoming wage and hour regulations; ensure organization's pay practices are in compliance with federal, state, and city regulations.

 

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree or above with major in Human Resources or related field OR equivalent experience

5+ years of experience in HR as a generalist

Demonstrated experience in managing and overseeing benefits operations

Strong working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including benefits, recruitment, compensation practices, employee relations, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws

Working experience in life science industry will be a plus

 

Required Skills:

In-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance

Computer savvy with extensive experience with MS Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Exceptional organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.

Able to multi-task with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy.

Able to troubleshoot effectively and solve problems under general supervision.

Able to work across teams by being a flexible team player.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

HRIS knowledge/experience preferred. Experience using BambooHR and PlanSource is a plus.

Working knowledge of California labor law, including but not limited to EEO, FLSA, ADA, HIPAA, COBRA, OSHA, FMLA, STD/LTD, etc.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

 

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) expected to lead equipment engineering and maintenance function.
  • Ensure compliance and manage EQMS Equipment Module content, process, and functionality.
  • Coordinate the specification, procurement, installation, and calibration of biopharmaceutical equipment in concert with end-user and suppliers.
  • Operate and maintain the Equipment Monitoring System.  Specify system modifications.  Determine system life cycle status to plan and specify future systems.
  • Coordinate equipment onboarding with facilities, calibration, maintenance, and validation activities.
  • Manage and execute equipment engineering’s responsibilities to Sorrento’s Quality Management System.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with at least 5-8 years related experience in a GMP pharmaceutical environment.
  • Must be able to read and follow detailed written instructions and have good verbal/written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with standard office software, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with biopharmaceutical laboratory and manufacturing equipment including but not limited to incubators, single use bioreactors, chromatography, cell therapy, and controlled temperature units is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP) is preferred.
  • Ability to manage routine small projects without assistance.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks from multiple customers.
  • Ability to work in controlled or clean room environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in these work environments.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

A Manufacturing Associate who will be responsible for manufacturing CAR-T cells per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in a controlled, cGMP cleanroom environment under the supervision of Manufacturing Management.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biomedical science, chemical engineering or associate disciplines or Associate/ Medical Technical degree and 2 years of Manufacturing or Operations experience
  • Cell culture experience is required including cell cryopreservation, PBMC isolation from blood, and produce CAR-T cells through cell culture, harvest, and cryopreservation.
  • Aseptic technique is required for production activities: welding, connections, and cell culture.

THE DAY-T0-DAY WORK INCLUDES:

  • Weigh and measures in-process materials to ensure proper quantities are added/removed.
  • Adheres to the production schedule ensuring on-time, internal production logistics.
  • Records production data and information in a clear, concise, format according to proper GDPs.
  • Work in a team based, cross-functional environment to complete production tasks required by shift schedule.
  • You will need to adhere to all regulatory requirements while performing your job functions.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
