Good to get your career started- but beware
|
Got a job fairly quickly as an Assistant Branch Manager early in my career. I gained tremendous experience and knowledge and made long lasting connections with some great colleagues and friends. Banker's hours are great, but they do expect off the clock work, more on that later.
However, the pay is extremely low. I could have made more money flipping burgers. But here I was selling mortgages! And speaking of selling mortgages, they put tremendous pressure on you to sell their products, but give you no marketing support whatsoever. They want you to go door to door like you're selling vacuums! And then they expect you to go to networking events and try to sell products there, off the clock of course.
Management is rough, they put tremendous pressure on you to hit quota with no reward, just the threat of firing. They make a big deal about their stock price, which leaves a bad taste in your mouth considering how below market they pay you.
All in all, there are worse jobs out there for sure. If you need to strengthen your resume in baking, come here but don't let them burn you out!

Lack proper training etiquette/ protocols (instructions)

-Culture isn’t the most welcoming, and management team tends to share inappropriate things that shouldn’t be discussed in a work environment.
-Training is not done effectively which leads to confusion amongst new employees. No instructions/ manuals on how to process functions efficiently.
-They practice “at will employment”, they will terminate without giving a reason nor provide feedback on what you need to improve.
-office based position which is standard for a good 9-5 job.

Working at Trust co you will learn from being a Teller, banking laws, lending principles. They are very good at promoting from within. Upper management has very unrealistic sales goals for each branch.

Stay away! Terrible and toxic work environment.

If you’re considering working here ….. don’t waste your time or mental health. The environment is beyond toxic from the branch manager and her plastic surgery made up face, Botox lips, and 3 miles thick concealer to the head teller accepting hundreds of dollars in gifts from customers it is beyond horrific. If you enjoy coming to work to listen to a Medusa resembling Kardasian wanna be complain about everything from doing laundry over the weekend to where she’s going to dinner while staring into space for 8 hours because there’s literally 2 customers every day all day ….. enjoy feeling awkward and uncomfortable 🥴

Terrible. Poor training, passive aggressive management, high turnover, low pay, short staffed, rules & policies constantly change, not a supportive work place, have to work 6 days a week, short breaks, they keep paid time off WHEN you leave.
