Also, due to said organizational structure, understand that projects will take an unreasonable amount of time to execute. Don't expect flexible schedules, remote work opportunities, etc. Management is extremely old school. Commercial Real Estate is king, so if that's your industry you might like it here. Be leary of the Operations & Technology department, I witnessed MANY long-term employees with 10+ years experience leave due to management. Pay is on the lower end. Everything else is pretty average and to be expected for a financial institution. Lowest paying bank in our area. They push you to advance but they want to give you the smallest raise for twice the work. They also really push sales goals on you threatening write ups if you don't push products onto clients. The insurance is also awful, so expensive for no coverage. You will be lucky if their isn't a co pay on birth control. You could get an entry level position at Wells fargo and be making more than an experienced banker at this company. Management are not leaders they are adult bullies that pick on tellers and bankers (especially if they’re are young). HR will not help you with any complaints or problems, you will have to reach out to the third party HR system (ethics hotline) to get anything done. If you’re looking for a teller position you’ll be underpaid and over worked (13.50 and hour) if you’re lucky. You will be promised raises and promotions and never actually receive them. You can make more money with less stress and a cashier at Target. Unless you shove credit cards down clients throats you will regularly be written up. You will be written up for; speaking to clients to long, using clients phones to show them on line banking, smiling to much at clients(not smiling enough) if your dress or skirt is to body con, drinking water at your teller station, asking older tellers for help. YOU WILL BE WRITTEN UP FOR USING SICK TIME. They care more about making money then employees or customers. When issues arise with coworkers theres no one to take problems to. HR is no help and just blows off concerns brought up to them. In branch isn't option either. There is a favoritism and the managers friends/family word is taken as only truth. Even when there are other witnesses stating that they are lying to cover themselves. And forget about advancement. Was discouraged from applying for job because they had already "given" it to someone before it was listed. Was constantly told to schedule sick leave/doctor appointments around others vacation days. Had to reschedule doctor appointments multiple times because someone wanted to use vacation days and would schedule that week. No micro management Great place to work. Great people. Can work on better training and manager communication on expectations on job duties. Internal departments will pass off the work to another department. Need better training and communication otherwise a good place to start.
