The company is very quota emphasized. You're expected to make a certain amount an hour based on the store's budget. If you dont, they will write you up with a few weeks. Benefits for part timers is garbage. Only 401k as a benefit with no match.

Not paid fairly for work, questionable management
|
Paid bare bones minimum wage, even if you are full time. No room for growth. No incentives or commission for sales which they drive you into selling their ‘warranty’ and repercussions if you don’t sell enough.
Management culture seems very inclusive on paper when I started however that is not the case with certain employees including some management. I was not always comfortable at work and felt that I didn’t have anyone to talk to or would care…

I worked at Geek Squad as an ARA and this company really values its people. Most large corporations view its employees as a number but not Best Buy - they truly care about their workers and will do anything possible to retain and promote from within. Could not recommend this company enough.

Wonderful place to be, but not a place to stay permanently.

A typical day is relatively fast paced with many clients to work with and manage. Many who come in are mild mannered and happy to be there, while some others are difficult to manage.
BestBuy has a horrible corporate leadership and the current CEO is driving the business into the ground and pulling down it's loyal employee's and clientele with her.
In store management is the epitome of phenomenal. These people are on top of the issues, orders, and management expectations. If you work here, you can expect your manager to not only care for you, but provide everything necessary to help your advancement or retention in your current position. They view this job as a learning opportunity or stepping stone for most, and will support you if better jobs come your way. They will also be more than willing to train you for advancement within the company if you so please.
The environment is welcoming and does not discriminate at all against anyone who works there. If anyone should step out of line, you can be sure consequences will come swiftly and justly. There will be respect and courtesy offered to all employees and customers alike. At BestBuy everyone is treated like a human being and they are cared for.
Hardest part of the job is often dealing with staffing shortages and difficult customers. When we're short on people, which we usually are, you can expect the floor to be very busy and difficult to manage. At our location the management does a good job of checking people in whenever possible to lessen the confusion. Employees are also well trained in how to move along interactions and better support more customers at once.
The most enjoyable part of the job is being in close contact with people who trust and rely on me daily. Each day is an opportunity to provide service to people who would otherwise be unable to make the most appropriate decisions or receive the help they need. I enjoy the accomplishment that comes with seeing some of my elderly clients leave knowing they are well cared for and can trust us with whatever questions they may have.

Good break coverage, Excellent management, Awesome employee discount, friendly atmosphere, work well with students, flexible hours, and acceptable amounts of promotion.

Short staffed, Wages don't justify work performed, hours can be tricky to plan around for the Holidays, Horrible Corporate management practices, Rude and disrespectful customers, lack of easily accessible resources for improvement.
