JOB SUMMARY
The Jr. Surveyor is responsible for assisting surveyors in the delivery of accurate and timely surveying and CAD assisted to the mining operations using solid survey practices. Assist in creating reports, plots, maps, and other land records as needed to support project.
Duties:
Using the CAD Software to Design varies roads, pads, and projects
Assist with detailed field surveys and may oversee the activities of field survey crews in performing the survey
Assist with maintains accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed
Assist with research previous survey evidence, maps, physical evidence, and other records
Prepares and presents findings to Engineering and Operational personnel
Performs other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications and Education:
High School diploma or GED
Knowledge of and skilled in the use of a variety of specialized equipment, tools and apparatus used in performing surveys (e.g. stadia rods, lasers, GIS/GPS units)
1 year of survey experience
Knowledge of MS Office, AutoCad, and excellent documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Drone Piloting experience and license

Short term mine plans studies focused on mine construction, mine pre-stripping sequence, dumps, and stock loading plans, mine equipment requirements, ore exposure and deleterious materials for the mill ramp-up phase.
Mine Fleet equipment studies for production and ancillary during construction and operation periods: Loading, hauling, drilling and ancillary.
Reporting, budget preparation, forecasting and costing.
Operating Budget for the life of mine and the sustaining capital associated with heavy civil works, mine equipment and replacement.
Overseeing and coordinating resource and reserve estimation and compliance for the company under NI 43-101 rules, pre-operational and during the operation's technical reports, supporting press release and other public disclosure documents related to project evaluation, mineral resources, and reserve statements.
Mine Technical lead for the overall Rosemont AFE Technical Report presenting the physical and economics for mine context during the LOM.
Technical leading and giving direction to external engineering and mine planning consultants to ensure work is being conducted consistent with the company's contracts and expectations in schedule and budget.
Identifying technical and operative business risks and opportunities in mining operations and assigned projects.
Preliminary operations plan and operational readiness support for technical vision, objectives, business strategy, project innovation, mine technology initiatives as part of operative improvements; operating philosophy concept, overall operational plan, big data - data analytics or business intelligence project support for mine and mill as part of technical inputs.
Engineering for pre-mining operational activities as required including:
Mine site development; accomplishing project objectives and company production guidelines.

The Arizona Business Unit (ABU) is seeking a Mine Planning Superintendent. This professional will be responsible for supporting the business unit's Projects Department and reports directly to the Technical Director, Mining. The role will have significant interaction with the ABU's senior management, professional staff, vendors, and contractors to coordinate the review of project designs ensuring proper implementation of project elements.
The position is located at the Copper World New Discovery Zone, located approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson. During regular business, the employee is required to travel locally.
JOB SUMMARY
The Mine Planning Superintendent will lead the Integrated Mine Planning team to provide expert technical and planning direction for current and future operations. Working to ensure compliance of the site safety and environmental standards, the role will be engaged in the optimization of the different short, medium, and long term mine planning of the different studies including PEA to Feasibility, construction and operation.
The Mine Planning Superintendent is responsible for developing strategic tactical plans including the project organization and structure, contracting strategy and resources plans. The role will support and direct external engineering and mine planning teams and consultants to ensure work is being conducted consistent with the company's contracts and expectations.
Duties:
Coach and develop Hudbay's staff to be competent in the People, Resourcing and Scheduling tasks of their role.
Demonstrate our commitment to safety through visible leadership, creating and developing a safe work culture.
Project management and prioritization of resources to achieve the agreed business objectives.
Developing life of mine plans (LOM) used for processing design criteria, environmental & social studies, CAPEX and OPEX estimation, financial model and official guidelines for resources and reserves.
Short term mine plans studies focused on mine construction, mine pre-stripping sequence, dumps, and stock loading plans, mine equipment requirements, ore exposure and deleterious materials for the mill ramp-up phase.
Mine Fleet equipment studies for production and ancillary during construction and operation periods: Loading, hauling, drilling and ancillary.
Reporting, budget preparation, forecasting and costing.
Operating Budget for the life of mine and the sustaining capital associated with heavy civil works, mine equipment and replacement.
Overseeing and coordinating resource and reserve estimation and compliance for the company under NI 43-101 rules, pre-operational and during the operation's technical reports, supporting press release and other public disclosure documents related to project evaluation, mineral resources, and reserve statements.
Mine Technical lead for the overall Rosemont AFE Technical Report presenting the physical and economics for mine context during the LOM.
Technical leading and giving direction to external engineering and mine planning consultants to ensure work is being conducted consistent with the company's contracts and expectations in schedule and budget.
Identifying technical and operative business risks and opportunities in mining operations and assigned projects.
Preliminary operations plan and operational readiness support for technical vision, objectives, business strategy, project innovation, mine technology initiatives as part of operative improvements; operating philosophy concept, overall operational plan, big data - data analytics or business intelligence project support for mine and mill as part of technical inputs.
Engineering for pre-mining operational activities as required including:
Mine site development; accomplishing project objectives and company production guidelines.
Detail tasks as mine construction plans using previous phase information of the engineering stage for the mine facilities such as haul roads from the pit to all destinations using mine trucks (crusher, dumps, and stocks), platforms, assembly area for mine equipment, waste rock construction.
Geo-metallurgical study and mine plan correlations with metallurgical recoveries according to lab tests and sample locations joined with the pit sequence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in mine, geology, or civil engineering.
Ten (10) plus years of experience in similar roles.
Understands and committed to safety guidelines.
Additional Studies in Planning, Engineering and Finance.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and computer knowledge (MS Office, MS Project, others associated to the position)
Must be proficient in one of the following: Whittle, Minemax, NPV, Minesight, Vulcan or other mine design and planning software.
