Easiest job ever

Honestly, this store is dying out. I had two previous customer service jobs and they were extremely stressful. But because this company is less and less busy, there's not a lot of customers. Management was okay, there's not a lot of room for promotion, however in the year I worked there I had 3 raises. I worked in the beauty department and it was super easy work. It's mainly older people who shop there, so there will be angry old people who don't understand signs, or how coupons work. They are kind of pushy on credit cards, but if you don't try much, they'll take you off the register and have you stock. Part-time hours were normally 15-25 and the pay isn't awesome but overall easiest job i've ever had and would honestly recommend if you're just wanting extra cash.

Management is all a joke
|
Its all a JOKE, from supervisors to gms.
Supervisors yell, swear to associates
Management all talk bad about associates
Theres clicks between certain managements. If one person in management doesnt like you ALL dont.
Supervisor swears and yells at other supervisors.
You get looked down at. Makes your self-esteem very low.
If you have worked there for 10+ years you are still getting minimum wage where new hires are getting more
The benefits are horrible
Hours are based on opening credit cards.
Gm doesnt have your back.

Productive, fun and assisting customers

All Team work and it was fun. I enjoyed my time at JCPenney. They were struggling to stay open so sales were important at the time I was there. I was cashier and I worked in customer service / return and package pickup. I was able cross train area other areas like custom curtains and accessories.. that really it.

Love interacting with customers. Good hours. Not open until 9 like most retailers.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management can cause you stress over credit applications and surveys. You have to maintain a certain goal each shift worked. If you don’t keep that up your hours will be cut

Most days was ok. When certain MODS are there it can lead to stressful situations.

I tried to stay busy! Most days were busy!
