Fun but bad pay
|
I workes at a venue in Nashville. The job was fun and every manager who worked there was kind. The only thing was the pay wasn't enough, especially when compared to other venues in Nashville.

Management does not communicate and gives contradictory assignments
|
Managers do not communicate with one another and give team conflicting assignments. At end of day they rush to get all the work done they forgot about and require permanent and contract staff to work excessive unpaid overtime. Management is vindictive, petty, toxic, micromanages and are ineffective communicators.

Solid job

Good workplace, reasonable workload, nice amenities. Could be a little more pay though. Management was nice for the most part, overall positive experience.

Rather be a binman
|
Poor management, poor pay, poor Monday’s are offensive, don’t take notice why so many staff are off sick with mental health, takes advantage of a cool job title but doesn’t reward staff

Fun
|
House of Blues has been a remarkable workplace experience for me. From the moment I stepped foot into this iconic venue, I was captivated by its vibrant atmosphere and rich musical heritage. The team at House of Blues is truly exceptional, displaying a genuine passion for their work and a strong commitment to providing an extraordinary experience for both staff and patrons.
One aspect that stands out at House of Blues is the strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie. Colleagues are supportive, collaborative, and always willing to lend a helping hand. This fosters a positive work environment where everyone feels valued and appreciated. The management team is highly approachable, and their open-door policy encourages open communication and idea sharing.
Furthermore, House of Blues offers ample opportunities for growth and development. The company invests in its employees by providing regular training and advancement programs. This not only enhances individual skills but also contributes to the overall success of the organization.
The diversity and inclusivity at House of Blues are also commendable. The venue celebrates various genres of music, cultures, and artists, creating a space that embraces and respects differences. This inclusive environment fosters creativity and innovation, making it a truly unique and dynamic workplace.
In conclusion, my time at House of Blues has been nothing short of extraordinary. The team, the culture, and the opportunities for personal and professional growth make it an exceptional place to work. I am grateful for the experience and look forward to continuing my journey with this incredible organization.

Impactful to my career - I'd go back
|
My time at LNE were some of the best years of my life honestly. I met so many amazing creatives and made or was apart of countless memorable experiences. It was a blessing to marry my passion of entertainment with my professional career in HR. This organization isn't perfect (none really are), but there was transparency, accountability and appreciation (as an expectation for all) within my division and team. I worked about 60% from experience and 40% 'on the fly', which I didn't mind because it kept me on my toes. I felt comfortable asking for help from colleagues, managers, to C-suite leaders IF I needed it. The benefit package was top notch and inclusive, really enjoyed the EAP, ERGs and additional perks. During my time, I believe the organization was logical and welcoming overall. I felt heard not just as an employee, but as the 'voice' of my staff. Training opportunities were plenty and important to the brand or at least to my division. The only cons I can remember is that sometimes information/processes/systems or other miscellaneous things could feel disjointed, especially across different divisions (as I recall though, it may have been intentional as the org structure then is more decentralized anyway). M&As felt rushed and unorganized when it came to involving local team members. I also wish we had more local control over compensation budgets/pay equity in our regional jurisdictions. At the end of the day, I learned a lot, got to travel, and felt supported inside and out. Starting part-time, I'd also like to mention that I was promoted 3 times within the last 3 years of my employment, so they really do value professional development/growth within the company. I only left due to COVID-19, so I'd absolutely consider working there again if the opportunity presented itself!
