Great co workers, low stress off the sales floor
|
I started as a sales clerk in the men's department which was a bit hectic. Cleaning the dressing room, putting back clothes, sizing for suits and customer transactions was a bit to do and proved to be too much social interaction for me at the time. After I moved to the fulfillment department they tacked on the merchandisers job onto the sales ladies, some who had been there 15 years, and they eventually gave up on enforcing the duties on these poor older ladies. Fulfillment was awesome, picking product and packing at a moderate pace with awesome co workers. I've heard since the company was sold they've had to eliminate every position except two in the department, so job security is low. I was promised a fulfillment position when moving to Nevada then they decided not to. Company is on the downfall, might be nice for a seasonal job.

A good part time position

I worked at Macys in Seattle a few years ago as a part time sales associate. I like that I am able to choose my own schedule. The pay isn't bad either.

No excuses for having no A/ C for months
|
BIG overturn in management at the UTC Sarasota location. Store manager was the biggest disappointment factor in that location.
NO A/ C for months on end. Told it was being replaced and NEVER was replaced or fixed
Customers would complain AND employees would be sent home for being sick from the heat.

loved working there. Was very stressful at times. But overall nice. Just stay focused on yourself and get the work done. Don't stress yourself over things.

What made Macy’s a fun place to work at were my coworkers and the discounts. Otherwise, be prepare for a large volume of customer and make sure to take your breaks. You will deal with the occasional customer who wants to return a used in gross conditions.
