Going downhill - stay away

When I first started, Mastercard was great. However, over the past year they’ve had senseless layoffs and forced RTO that mandates you come in on Mondays and Fridays twice a month. I used to feel trusted to do my job, now I’m just a micromanaged number.

It's a nice place to work, but they expect you to know everything from Day 1. Stressful job. They want you to do everything even what's not in your responsibilities. But overall is good, people are nice.

Great colleagues, shame about the substantial shift in culture
|
Great colleagues, fab office, good opportunities to work on interesting projects.
Recently there has been a substantial shift in company culture that has negatively impacted employee morale, motivation, and mental wellbeing.
In the space of a few months, there has been layoffs (with no official communication about which teammates have been let go), mandated 3 days per week return to the office, removing the perk of flex Friday's and a general clawback of the flexibility that was afforded to staff over previous years.
It has been a jarring and disconcerting reversal of the previous 'Mastercard Way' of a people first culture and doing well by doing good.
It's such a shame that so much damage has been done to a once vibrant and wonderful workplace in such a short space of time.
