Fun and innovative place
|
Fun and innovating company to work for. Benefits were decent, but the work you get to work on is cutting edge and enticing. The team I was on was good to work with. Good work location

Decent for aerospace/defense
|
Average company for Aerospace companies. They have good and bad aspects like all companies. It’s largely based on the program you work, your network within the company and the opportunities that are provided. It’s based on your job role and title as well. You may get lucky and work in what is interesting or something you are not interested in.

Inconsistent work load
|
People are great to work with but have had issues keeping a consistent work load. Sometimes they hire people and they have nothing for them. But the coworkers have been great and awesome.

Good Work Life Balance
|
Best work life balance for the major aerospace companies. Very complex projects and a very fast paced environment. Management does tend to apply undeserving pressure on programs.

Exciting work, low pay
|
As an entry level engineer, the pay is relatively low compared to other defense companies. Especially considering the cost of living at my location at least. But the work is interesting.

Just Okay
|
Good company to work for overall if you value job security, but very hard to move up the ladder unless you have the years of experience. Pay raises are kind of a joke and so is the bonus..

Great benefits and interesting work
|
Overall had a great experience at NG. I started as an intern and worked my way up to a manager during my time there.
Pros:
They have awesome benefits, like a 9/80 schedule, generous PTO that gets rolled over/paid out, tuition reimbursement, etc.
Really interesting work - NG is a complex corporation that works with the government, internationally, NASA, etc. They do some really groundbreaking things that are fun to learn about and actually meaningful for humanity.
Cons:
It is a big company, so it can be tougher to stand out depending on which team you are on (ex: Engineering is huge, so really need a strong manager or program director to help you grow).
There can be a lot of bureaucracy and politics that get in the way of doing your job; if you like a lot of autonomy and aren't a fan of hierarchical structure this isn't the place for you.

Great Company on paper, not so great day to day
|
I love being able to do what I do. I love taking code and creating something usable in real world.
I like the foundation of this company with what they claim their values are. However, I am seeing a different side to this.
They do not balance work/family life. Job offers with reference to hybrid work are promised and then taken away once position is filled. Work is shifted to make remote work impossible even though the shift is unnecessary. Meeting consistencies are non-existent. Certain days were meetings are not suppose to take place, take place anyways. Meetings themselves are sporadic and always "need" to be done in the evenings, and in most cases is at the end of day, which usually pushes hours over.
When trying to resolve these issues with upper management and bringing up these issues being discussed before acceptance of position, you are told to get in line or get out the door. It doesn't inspire much loyalty from your employees.
Will not provide location or title for fear of retaliation.
|
Love being able to code and create
|
No work/family balance. No option to meet employees half way on hybrid work, even though that was a major sell for the job in the first place.
