Excellent job. Great benefits. Above average pay for flatbed. Steady freight. The bad news. Don't eff up. Ever. Make one mistake and you're gone. Driver facing cameras allow ZERO room for even the smallest mistake.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My route is unique in that I'm self-dispatched. I run a shuttle - flatbed - 330 miles round trip. If I need anything my manager is always available - even on weekends. The pay is good and guaranteed.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing stressful at this time. I know what I have to do, and nobody bothers me as long as I'm doing my job.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment and culture are good. I think they rise above what's required to foster a good workplace.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I run at night so my shift starts at around 9 and I'm back at the yard between 3 and 4 the next morning. I run a flatbed to a steel warehouse. They load it, I tarp it and bring it back to my yard for the day driver. I started out with a Conestoga and another driver wrecked it. Hope to get another one soon - those flexible covers are nice to work with!

Your mileage may vary. There are many different accounts with completely different mgmt teams and processes. Much of the culture comes from the customer you serve. I had one promotion in 4 years but knew others on the engineering side that were promoted almost annually.

They make it seem as if you belong after they treat you like dogs trying to over satisfy customers. never will you find happiness in this place if you plan to move up in management because everyone has a rock for a brain.

I have worked over 10+, and my only complaint is that we have been changing managers every 4 years and every manager comes with new ideas that never benefit the driver, the pay is decent and I'm home every day + weekends off, every account is different and pay changes too.
