I joined Spirit Aerosystems after working in a government position for 11 years and there are a lot of similarities between the two. In my current position I have the flexibility to work multiple production lines and collaborate with management, engineering, quality, and customers.

Spirit has prioritized production over quality (as seen in recent news). Executive leadership is compensated by delivery scheduling and not safety or quality. Certain production lines are better than others, but there is a substantial amount of pressure put on production line managers to make rate.
