The drivers I worked with also took my safety seriously and would warn me if there was an aggressive animal or they would opt to run those deliveries themselves. Ability to decide if you want to opt in or out of working each day that work was offered to helpers. Great if you have a very flexible schedule, transportation and want to work a few afternoon hours. Seeing the joy on customer's faces when you deliver the Xmas presents they have been waiting for! They approve the helpers for a calculated number of hours based on how many packages are on the truck that day. So some days you are offered work and have the potential to be on the truck all afternoon but other days there is only enough work to fill an hour or 2 as it is all based on how many packages are assigned to your truck that morning and how many deliveries are left to run once the driver picks you up. Hours offered are usually in the afternoon which is similar to working a 'mid' shift.
