<p>At VMworld 2017, VMware and Pivotal Software, Inc., in collaboration with Google Cloud, unveiled Pivotal Container Service™ (PKS), a new product that enables enterprises and service providers to deliver production-ready Kubernetes on VMware vSphere and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with constant compatibility to Google Container Engine (GKE).</p><p><p>The PKS Sales Specialist will deliver on VMWare’s value proposition to build mind share and adoption of our cloud and virtualization technologies within our Enterprise Accounts. You'll enable VMWare’s major enterprise customers to define, develop, and deploy their next-generation cloud strategies. Our Cloud Native Applications include Pivotal Container Service, Kubernetes, BOSH, NSX and Wavefront all integrated as a secure, managed scalable platform. Deep knowledge of the cloud native applications marketplace, IT sales cycles, and VMware’s partner programs and ecosystem will all be essential for success in the role.</p><p><p><b>Key Job Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Accountable for achieving VMware’s revenue targets for VMware’s Cloud Native portfolio.</li><li>Work with enterprise sales account teams to build account strategies and promote the overall cloud strategy within a defined set of accounts</li><li>Guide the customer from adopting virtualization to a private, hybrid, and public cloud using VMWare Cloud Native solutions</li><li>Ability to use VMware’s advantage position in IT organizations to move higher in the decision-making process and sell to Development Teams and Business Units as well as IT.</li><li>Build strategic relationships with C-level executives and key business leaders to promote VMWare’s portfolio of open cloud solutions through proofs of concepts and pilots</li><li>Experience in selling open source subscriptions to companies with >5,000 + employees</li><li>Identify high propensity customers.</li><li>Collaborate and build strong relationships with core Field and Partner sales individuals to ensure engagement with core teams and customers.</li><li>Consultative sales experience especially around the adoption of cloud native applications.</li><li>Become a trusted adviser to senior IT and business executives within key accounts to build a long-term partnership with customers and ensure these strategic relationships result in customers becoming a public reference</li><li>Able to work across multi-functions/multi-individuals to achieve desired results.</li><li>Ability to evolve and develop the overall sales strategy and model for cloud native.</li></ul><p><p><b>Requirements</b></p><ul><li>8+ years of sales experience in the IT industry, with Enterprise software and Cloud Native Applications.</li><li>8+ years of sales experience with 4+ years of specifically focused on enterprise virtualization</li><li>Strong knowledge of the Cloud Native Applications business.</li><li>Ability to articulate and evangelize the value of cloud native applications.</li><li>Broad technical experience with enterprise virtualization technologies like Red Hat Virtualization, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Citrix XenServer</li><li>Experience with new product introductions.</li><li>Strategic thinker with a sales mentality, as well as analytical ability and a shown ability to execute strategy.</li></ul><p><p><span>This position is eligible for the <a href='https://source.vmware.com/hr/Pages/Employee-Referral-JoinSDDC.aspx' target='_blank'>JoinSDDC</a> referral campaign</span></p>
