nyse:w https://www.indeed.com/cmp/wayfair/reviews Apr 21st, 2024 09:18PM Open Open Open Wayfair Sales Specialist Remote Going Downhill and Unethical the company benefits are useless if you have various medical needs as it incorporates a prescription supplement plan, the company is laying off people quietly who are under 11 months or overall less than 50 people at a time to avoid putting out a WARN notice and they are outsourcing to the Philippines as well as other places; this means they are targeting remote workers. They have gotten rid of almost all of their IT teams and you cannot even call IT if you are having tech issues anymore. They have outsourced a lot of IT work as well. Very low pay as well, lowest commission I have ever seen any company offer additionally. They do not accept Dr. notes and it is very hard to get accommodations due to their lengthy process and they constantly give employees attendance points on accident, but it is constant- weekly/daily occurrences. A lot of mandatory OT now as well especially after all the layoffs resulting in being severely understaffed. No positions are safe. Nothing but back to back calls all day long with no time to catch your breath. Metrics are impossible to meet and sustain even if you are good at it. When you have to go to the restrrom you have to let the whole department know so your team knows you didn't go AWOL, even though I was tempted several times to just log out and walk away. I will never forget the call I had with an elderly lady whose sofa was left on the first floor of her apartment and she could not carry it up, and there was nothing that I could do because I could not call the carrier. Be prepared to learn how to say "there is nothing that we can do" in hundreds of candy-coated ways because you will be saying it a lot in various situations that come up. Wayfair makes it difficult to fully assist and aid the customer by taking away most of the tools they need in order to turn a profit. The back to back calls and the fear of being next to be laid-off What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Horrible, you are literally just a number. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Start day taking back to back calls for like an hour , 15 min break and then sometimes going 4 plus hours before another break for lunch.
