Great people that lack collaboration

I've enjoyed my time with YETI, but unfortunately the culture and management have changed drastically since the pandemic. Lots of growth creates lots of turnover which creates a disconnect between leadership.
Luckily I think our senior leaders will be able to overcome this with time.

Company products are cool, however management is poor, no future.

Management is very poor in this company. Forget about training properly, having reviews to get better at your taks, or communication from your managers. It doesn't make sense for a big company to have this poor leadership. Co-workers are always cool and great to work with. The jobs aren't difficult, on the contrary, very easy and manageable.

In the beginning this was a good place to work. They will change your whole schedule without enough notice. Working here its all about race with management all the way to the top. If you have a problem with someone and report it NOTHING gets done about it.

Really cool place, terrible work ethic

This place has such an old school mentality of work harder, not smarter. Lots of IT things get implemented, then never fully finished. The folks in charge don't really check in with middle management and key personnel making changes. There's not change management to speak of, and things have been broken due to this lack of oversight. The culture is great, if you're in literally any other department but IT.
The company also utilizes contractors, and they are treated poorly. At the beginning of the pandemic, they let quite a few contractors go for their bottom line. Classy. I wouldn't say avoid this company, but just know it may not be very good for your mental health.

I worked temporarily there through a hiring agency. To be honest, we were trained pretty quickly and I felt a little under prepared but we had a lot of help and support along the way. it was a lot of self training. I've never worked a job before where all employees and managers were so helpful and really cared about the employees. They have their policies but i watch them consistently make their customers happy.
I answered about 20 calls a day and in between calls I voluntarily took email cases. Most customers are nice but expect to have a few difficult customers here and there. Not gonna lie, customer over the phone can be pretty rude but I truly enjoy making someone's day.
All in all, this company is truly amazing. I have definitely became a YETI fan and have bought several of their products already ! They truly have great customer service and great products. If you're thinking about applying or accepting this position, do it!!!

Micromanagement to the extreme!!!

The management team at Yeti is extremely reactive which causes extra work for everyone. There is also very little work life balance and no recognition for your hard work. There is also a high turnover rate at yeti because the culture has turned into a very toxic hostile environment. If you want to be treated like a professional adult and not be micromanaged don’t work here. That type of management style will ruin your confidence and it will cause you to question yourself. Choose a company that will value you and allow you to take ownership. Yeti is the opposite of that.

Great company. Great people and camaraderie. And the product sells itself. I was beyond impressed with the quality of the Yeti products and their customer service. Helping customers with their orders and making sure that the personalizations on mugs and coolers was enjoyable. The only downside to the place was that there was never a feeling of job security. They let a lot of people go from there, and the reasons why were never quite clear. Maybe it's different now. They really are great. So if you're hired as a contract employee for a 6 or 10 week assignment, it's very enjoyable and I'd recommend it, but maybe don't count on staying permanently.
