What you’ll do
Proactively plan and execute major press announcements, interviews and events with media across verticals and platforms (print, online, broadcast, etc.) around a variety of subject matters
Create compelling data-driven stories to position 23andMe as the leader in consumer genetics and research
Lead PR outreach around new research and/or consumer products to reinforce credibility and demonstrate our commitment to our customers and the scientific community
Assist in responding to inbound requests from media, accounting for overall strategy and prioritization
Prepare materials including briefing documents for executive speaking engagements and interviews, media Q&A, press releases, pitches, media lists, and executive bios

What you’ll bring
5+ years of relevant experience in communications, ideally within the tech, health and/or scientific industries.

What you'll do
Information Security Engineering & Architecture:
Evaluate architectural designs and perform security reviews with Engineering teams;
Provide guidance on security solutions and best practices to internal teams;
Introduce and maintain information security tools, both in-sourced and outsourced, inclusive of event management, monitoring, and other specific cloud security solutions and tools;
Follow DevOps principles in implementing security controls in the cloud infrastructure;
Utilize existing monitoring infrastructure to collect actionable security signals and automate remediation.
Information Security Operations:
Review the signal coming from the cloud security tools and third-party/managed security service providers, coordinate with teams to address findings;
Incident management: perform security analysis and investigations of incidents involving the cloud components;
Support compliance activities for frameworks like SOC1/2, ISO27001, PCI-DSS, HITRUST, and more.
Requirements
Technical skills:
5 years of experience in Security Engineering, DevOps or IT Operations roles, strong familiarity with the principles of DevOps and Agile development;
2 years of hands-on experience securing cloud applications and infrastructure (AWS strongly preferred);
Excellent understanding/working knowledge of the public cloud infrastructure and services in AWS (IAM, VPC, KMS, CloudWatch, Systems Manager, S3, RDS, Route53, Lambda, AWS Config, etc.) is a strong plus;
Experience building and securing infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Ansible, SAM and/or similar tools.
Understanding of software development lifecycle models, as well as the approaches to implement the AWS Well-Architected Framework;
Understanding of the shared responsibility model in AWS;
Fluency with Python required
Experience implementing and leveraging the logging and monitoring solutions is a plus;
Relevant security and AWS certifications are a plus but not required.

Perform manual web app pentests using tools such as Burp Suite.
Triage findings from coordinated disclosure and bug bounty programs. Provide security researchers a great experience by using your relationships with our product developers to help them prioritize and fix critical issues in a timely fashion.
What you’ll bring
A minimum of 5 years of experience as an application security engineer or working as a pentester.
Comfortable with performing analysis in Python and JavaScript.
Experience with working with both centralized and decentralized business services
Experience with managing and ensuring the timely response and investigation of security events and incidents
Pluses
Preferred experience finding misconfigured cryptography and designing PKI solutions.

Who we are

You will play a pivotal role leading functional genomics platforms focused on characterizing the molecular function of genetic variants and candidate genes of interest and partnering with our drug discovery teams and other internal and external partners to inform on target discovery and drug development.
You will lead a group of scientists and researchers to work on modeling novel gene-phenotype links in vitro and in vivo with the aim of providing a mechanistic understanding of how variants affect the properties of the corresponding gene product and drive a phenotype. You will coordinate this effort with internal and external collaborators, integrate with other 23andMe Therapeutics programs and collaborate in generating models of disease. What you’ll do
In partnership with leadership counterparts, define and lead functional genomics strategy for 23andMe Therapeutics
Initiate and lead key external collaborations using gene editing platforms
Establish internal capabilities for high throughput gene editing experiments
Lead a team of scientists and researchers that design and execute on large scale gene-editing experiments across a range of cellular models and analyze the resulting data.
Coordinate with Therapeutics and Research scientists to generate models of disease.

Who we are

We are seeking an exceptional computational biologist to join our cross-functional Therapeutics team focused on discovery and development of novel therapeutic agents. You will have the opportunity to work on the world’s largest collection of phenotype and genetic data to help the team identify novel predictive/prognostic biomarkers and drug targets.
What you’ll do
Contribute to ongoing therapeutic development programs by analyzing clinically relevant disease subtypes to help understand the mechanisms of action of our targets/drugs and identify predictive and prognostic genetic biomarkers.
Lead the effort to identify, evaluate and curate public genetic and genomics data related to disease subtypes and drug response.
Design/implement novel methods and tools to analyze human genetic and genomic data for both biomarker and target discovery.
Work collaboratively with biomarker scientists, drug discovery scientists, computational biologists, statistical geneticists, and drug development scientists and clinicians.
What you’ll bring
Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field
1-5 years' post-Ph.D. experience, reflecting a strong record of achievement either through publications or successful biotech/pharmaceutical industry accomplishments in health sciences or drug development
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively especially to non-specialists
Ability to work well on cross-functional teams
Experience developing robust data analysis software in R and/or Python
Expertise in several of the following: RNAseq, WES/WGS, mass spectrometry, regression modeling, and/or machine learning
Pluses:
Understanding and expertise in human genetics, GWAS, fine mapping, QTLs
Knowledge of biology in at least one disease-relevant area (e.g., immunology, oncology, metabolic or cardiovascular disease, etc.)
Knowledge/experience in biomarkers

What you’ll do
Proactively plan and execute major press announcements, interviews and events with media across verticals and platforms (print, online, broadcast, etc.) around a variety of subject matters
Create compelling data-driven stories to position 23andMe as the leader in consumer genetics and research
Lead PR outreach around new research and/or consumer products to reinforce credibility and demonstrate our commitment to our customers and the scientific community
Assist in responding to inbound requests from media, accounting for overall strategy and prioritization
Prepare materials including briefing documents for executive speaking engagements and interviews, media Q&A, press releases, pitches, media lists, and executive bios
Assist in reviewing external materials to ensure message consistency, appropriate language and brand sentiment; includes presentations, research papers, social media copy, etc.
Help manage project-based PR / media agency relationships
What you’ll bring
5+ years of relevant experience in communications, ideally within the tech, health and/or scientific industries.
Experience developing clear and concise communications materials, including press releases, blog posts, briefing docs and messaging
Passion for working in a highly collaborative team environment
Experience measuring impact of communications programs, and leveraging data to drive overall plans
Track record of juggling multiple projects, and delivering results in a fast-paced, changing environment
Bachelor’s Degree or related experience required
