However, we work very closely with ACLU National on many issues. It's a sprawling entity working on numerous issues in numerous ways, across numerous affiliates plus National. I love the balance of the autonomy that each affiliate has, while still being able to lean on National and other affiliates for support that simply isn't available in a stand-alone small organization. Culture varies widely across each affiliate and National, since each is its own independent entity. But across the board you've got really, really smart people who really care about the work they're doing. Literally no one outside of the organization distinguishes between ACLU National and each of the affiliates.
