iSolved HCM, a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions has announced the acquisition of AmCheck, a provider of payroll services with offices across the nation. This new partnership is a mutually beneficial advancement of the close relationship between the two companies that started when AmCheck joined the iSolved Network of Certified Partners and chose to use the iSolved technology platform to service its customers.
iSolved is a robust HCM platform that helps clients manage a variety of workforce challenges, including employee engagement, human resources, payroll, time and attendance, benefits enrollment, talent acquisition, and compliance. With the merger, AmCheck customers will have access to a variety of additional tools and resources, including iSolved Learn, a powerful learning management system, iSolved Hire, a comprehensive applicant tracking and onboarding tool, as well as iSolved Mojo, a collaboration and performance solution.
AmCheck was formed in 1996, when it revolutionized the payroll industry standard by offering a high-quality customer experience with professional and knowledgeable representatives. When AmCheck chose iSolved as its technology solution, its customers had a robust HCM technology, delivered with the white-glove service around which AmCheck had built its brand.
The iSolved platform has grown its market share rapidly over the years, now with over 3 million employees and 45,000 employers. AmCheck was one of more than 100 partners that played a major role in the growth of iSolved. The AmCheck offices involved in the merger are those located in Phoenix, AZ; Portland, OR; Denver, CO; Irvine, CA; Schaumburg, IL; Chicago, IL; Salt Lake City, UT; and and San Diego, CA.

AmCheck’s desire to provide companies with a full suite of flexible payroll, human resources, and benefits products and services began in 1996. AmCheck’s founders, Dean Lucente and Brad Johnston, started their mission in a home office with one computer workstation and a printer. They knew there was a large portion of the payroll outsourcing market that disliked being “just a number.” The goal was to revolutionize the payroll industry standard by offering a high-quality customer experience with prompt, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable representatives along with leading edge technology all at a good value. After getting started with their first clients, the company moved out of the home office and into their first “real” office in 1997.
Word of mouth spread and the company picked up steam. Within one year, AmCheck doubled in size. Serving over 250 clients in the Phoenix area meant adding new services, employees, and infrastructure. During this period of rapid growth, leadership never forgot their reason for being in business; the customer always comes first. The next few years would prove crucial as the pieces were put in place for establishing a nationwide presence.
Over twenty years, thousands of clients, and twelve franchise offices later, Amcheck is considered the first Administrative Service Offering (ASO) business model in the United States.
