Perfect place for growth in the beginning of an engineering career

The team is really friendly and supportive here. Everyone usually tries to help even if your question is out of their with scope, and this is a distinctive feature of many workers that they have vast experience in many fields.
You get to work on so many different aspects of the product that eventually you learn how the whole systems work, not just their specific parts, which makes you a really seasoned software engineer. And yes, this is a product company, so you get all of the product company things like owning parts, communicating with customers, suggesting and implementing ideas and improvements etc.

The fast pace of development can put you off eventually. Since the product is huge and the team is relatively small, your work rarely moves much further that it's sufficient, sometimes even stays in a more of a prototype form, even though it is used by customers. So you'll always have a feeling that there's so much to be improved, polished, tested and fixed. And yet it's not a bad thing generally, systematically trying to cope with this by looking for compromises between time and quality is exhausting.

The company has no management besides the CEO - which may seem like a good thing, but I did feel a lack of planning. They move fast, but you hardly see a long vision or perspective. So I'd say that probably some amount of real analysis and planning would help the teams have more security and understanding where and how they move.

Do a performance reviews as a possibility to get a raise. Don't be afraid to let employees introduce new technologies, sometimes they may work on bare motivation and will produce better result :)
