Community Operations is a joke - the company is not what it used to be

- Nice people to work with
- Good standard benefits
- Cool office
- Convenient central location
- Work remotely

- Community Operations department became an absolute joke. The head of the department is weak, insecure and unpopular, it's clear that this person is on this position only based on time of service, not competence and strong leadership.
- HR is another weak and incompetent department. People raise complaints about their managers being abusive and all they do is pretend they will investigate or put you in front of the person (who is being abusive to you) and force a reconciliation. HR fails in protecting employees from abuse, which goes totally opposite to what the company preaches in their employee guidelines.
- People that have nothing to do with the "Bumble way" of working are being hired to manage people. All the kindness, caring and being human part of this company is unfortunately in its past. Bumble became another big corporation exclusively seeking profit and growth at all costs. Most of the recent staff hired on the last couple of years have nothing to do with the company's values.
- No career progress in Community Operations. The department leadership clearly prefers to hire externally in opposite of developing and hiring people internally. People who wanted to progress to the next level had to leave the company.
- Compensation is below market average, especially with the cost of living crisis in the UK. I've been applying for jobs in other companies and they are offering 7 to 10K more for the exact same position.
- Benefits were limited at its minimal after the company went public. No more fun parties, no more free merch, no more incentives to go to the office and collaborate face to face.

- you can work your own hours, but other than that no pros

- Not enough work, too many people working the same market for no apparent reason, so as a freelance worker you're left with not enough work for you to do, resulting in you having to work 12 to 15 hour days daily. - No communication informing you of major decisions that impact your salary - e.g. company announced with one week notice that one of the things we get paid for would no longer be available, which resulted in my pay being cut in over 800 pounds a month. - No feedback or open communication with managers, they tell you you're part of the company but don't be fooled, you're not - They focus on quantity rather than quality, the company doesn't really show any care for its customers or employees for that matter.

If you make promises, keep them, or acknowledge & explain why you can't... eg. summer pop up vans on the terrace, then summer party, then autumn, then xmas, then nothing. This cycle breaks trust, and as most of the company are relatively new it is important to keep their enthusiasm as a new hire going as long as possible for retention!
