As the years passed and the client list grew, it became impossible to service large, complex clients without offering trash services. So in 1991 we literally built a trash company (Mass Hauling) around our recycling company. Since then, we have grown in both scale and scope. We have created and maintained recycling programs in the majority of Boston’s biggest buildings and corporate sites across New England. We service clients across the country and advise clients around the globe. Sweet Spot: Most disposal companies profit from collecting and hauling as much trash as possible to a landfill. Most recycling companies profit from collecting, hauling and processing paper to be resold to paper mills and recycled into new paper products. Thus it is in our best interest to develop recycling programs that are effective and extract the maximum tonnage of paper from the waste stream. The effect to the client is a decrease in (costly) trash tonnage and an increase in (free) paper tonnage which results in lower disposal costs . This is the “sweet spot” of our business: we can simultaneously reduce our clients’ disposal costs, and create an environmentally-friendly office. Portfolio: Our average building has a recycle rate that exceeds the industry average by 40%!
