Chartbeat hires good people. Skills are important, of course, but it's more important that you're someone people want to work with - good communication, empathetic, collaborative. As a result, I enjoy my work and actually look forward to seeing my coworkers. There's a lot of flexibility, transparency, and mutual trust. You're treated like an adult human who can make decisions and who has a life outside work. The workload is reasonable and time off is respected and encouraged. I'm able to decide how, when, and where I want to work, but support and guidance is there when I need it. When my productivity fell off a cliff during a difficult time, I fully expected to be put on a PIP and shown the door. Instead, I got coaching, patience, and support. There's actual management here - not just supervisors, but people who invest in their staff and want to see them succeed and grow. Leadership seems to have their head and hearts in the right place. The recent acquisitions seem like good additions, so I'm optimistic about the changes to come. It's a quality product with a strong focus on the customer and surprisingly privacy-friendly. It feels like you're building something good.

There's minor sources of friction, like legacy code that keeps getting talked about but never actually put on the schedule, or the growing pains as we try to find the balance between product-driven and engineering-driven planning, but nothing out of the ordinary.
