I had a great experience with just about every person I worked with in the bast 2 years. Decent Benefits. Wellness Days. There are a lot of inconsistentencies and as many others have said the pay is low for the industry. If you don't hit your full quota- commision is almost non existant. $200 for over 20 something completed meetings is less than motivating. When I was hired I was sold on the low wage due to the position being entry level and obtainable quotas. As time has gone on the quota and role expectations are much less obtainable. The manager will encourage you to "just lie if you have to" to get the meeting and to work off the clock (unpaid) to hit her quota. Even if you are too far away to even get paid she will still try to guilt trip you into helping her hit her quota... unpaid- off the clock and no commision. Since the merger with MindBody and promoting people with little to no manager experience this has gone downhill. Sales management is largely made of a close group of friends in Montana that creates a bubble that prohibits growth unless you get into the inner circle. Team leaders are more worried about creating a non existent team culture over mandatory 30 minute meetings 4x/week than employee growth or performance. The sales cycle is short, however they have decided it is easier to have devs call the same accounts that have been reached out to for 8+ years than to invest in researching for new accounts. They do not provide any flexibility in the sale so you get people that have said no for 8 years getting pitched the same product. Territory assignments are based more on manager favorites than performance. Salary is low for the sales industry and while it is uncapped commission, you do not get any commission until hit 75% of quota. They recently lowered commission payouts by 20% without raising base pay so you no longer have incentive to sell above quota. Review cycles have more to do with company fit than performance. Ranking higher a mediocre sales person than a high performing rep that does not host trainings, buddy's, or play their weekly/monthly games. A big part of the review is acting like an owner (they do not give shares) which they define basically by how much money you sacrifice for the company to look better. Quota is next to impossible to hit bc a) the metrics keep changing, b) they took inbounds away and created an inbound team, c) they over saturated the SDRs so there’s a 20:1 ratio of AEs to SDRs so it’s hard to get leads from SDRs, c) the leads that are given are so overworked that you either don’t speak to anyone, or they tried CP in the past and hated it or they don’t take us seriously bc they notice the high turnover. Every other month they get bombarded by a new rep. The managers are mostly terrible - I would say Margo Lydia and Jonathan are great but the others are cliquey, arrogant and unhelpful. The base salary is ~$40k-$45k depending on where you live and with very little chance of making commission, it’s not a livable wage. I have never been so stressed out and miserable in a job as I have working for this company- which is wild considering it’s an”health and wellness/fitness”’company. My manager was amazing and I have no complaints. First off, I didn't realize when I got hired that they were being sued- 95% of gyms and fitness studios that I spoke with hate CP and would never partner with them even though it is free to be on the platform. Secondly, this job is extremely territory dependent. You cannot source leads for yourself, and if you are assigned a territory that has not been updated with fresh leads, it's just about impossible to hit your quota. There were countless days where I would not reach a single person on the phone because my territory was basically all accounts that had been called hundreds of times, or businesses that no longer existed. I felt like I was not only wasting my time, but also the company's time and money. They spend a ton of money on company trips, equipment, and merchandise which is great, but why not spend more money on paying your employees a livable wage with the opportunity to succeed? The vast majority of all my coworkers at CP never hit quota because the opportunity was just not there and we would waste our time calling disconnected phone numbers. CP is not beneficial for its partners but only its users- which makes it even harder to sell if you get somehow get someone on the phone with their bogus leads. The pay is terrible- you could make more as a manager at a McDonald's. I regressed in my career during my time here and I regret taking the opportunity to work here in the first place. For some reason, it is extremely difficult to get a job at CP but do NOT believe the hype, it's definitely not worth it if you want to make money and have opportunity to succeed. Not only is the base pay laughable, but the commission is also extremely low since the company does not charge its partners to be on the platform.
