This was a cool place to work. Credit Sesame made an effort to find good people and the pay was great. Unfortunately, things were not managed well at all.
|
Saying you won't lay people off and that everything is fine is great to hear... When you break that promise it really sucks, and causes a serious loss of trust. Credit Sesame went from offering a 5 figure bonus for recruiting talent to laying off a substantial amount of the staff in less than a year. If you're thinking about working here, know that this isn't a trustworthy place.

Talented, smart people and love the remote environment

-No transparency from leadership -Hired on as one thing then end up doing an unhealthy amount of work in areas that are not in your expertise and expect results -No money for basic company-wide tools (used free version of Zoom the entire time) -Benefits are nonexistent (no 401k match, unlimited PTO is a joke, stock options are useless since there is no faith the company will ever go public) -Layoffs 3 years running -No budget or even a blink of an effort for getting colleagues together but the leadership team from all over the country (and UK) are flying to Toronto to meet Overall it seems the mission of the company right now is to produce positive revenue to sell it for the highest dollar. Financial wellness for the elite and not for the customers that need it the most. The actual company mission was supported by the employees and not the leadership.
