1. **Contractor Safety:**
I’ve had a growing apprehension regarding safety protocols for myself and other surfers. Kyte must enhance safety measures in regards to recent multiple car thefts in the New York City market and implement procedures to mitigate risks associated with our roles.
2. **Low Wages:**
I have observed that the current compensation structure does not adequately reflect the value of the services I provide to Kyte. There should be a comprehensive review of the compensation policy to ensure fair and competitive remuneration in line with industry standards and New York State labor laws.
3. **Health and Hygiene Concerns:**
Insufficient Restroom Accessibility
Numerous surfers (some with medical conditions) have reported difficulty accessing restroom facilities during working hours. The current situation has resulted in undue discomfort and inconvenience, adversely affecting both productivity and morale. The inability to access restroom facilities in a timely manner has had a noticeable impact on surfer morale.
4. **Eroded Transparency:**
Transparency in communication has seemingly diminished over time since removing customer and trip channels via Slack app from surfers. I strongly advocate for a reinstatement of clear, honest, and timely communication on matters that directly affect me and other surfers. This includes updates when customers cancel or reschedule and any changes that impact my work and engagement with Kyte.
