It was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in New York. We have a diverse, global team with backgrounds in sustainable agriculture, management consulting, technology, data science, and public policy. To complement this team, we are looking for an experienced General Counsel to support our growing team in the United States and 11+ countries of operation. </span></p> <p><strong>We are building solutions for smallholder coffee farmers that are currently beyond the reach of existing sustainability certification or verification approaches. </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">Consumers are increasingly asking if the brands they trust are “sustainable” – that is, produced under acceptable social, economic and environmental practices. Companies have responded by setting targets for becoming “100% sustainable”. However, existing approaches for verifying sustainability face challenges reaching farmers that are too small, too remote, or informally organized. The starting period for this position would be as a volunteer for 6 months (generous cash stipend + covering of all housing, travel and work-related expenses). In the last two years, we expanded our operations to 10 coffee origins. We are in the middle of an ambitious expansion to cocoa-producing countries and to other important sustainability areas (e.g. education) in which our technologies could help make a difference.</span></p> <p><strong>We are building solutions for smallholder farmers that are currently beyond the reach of existing sustainability certification or verification approaches. </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">Consumers are increasingly asking if the brands they trust are “sustainable” – that is, produced under acceptable social, economic and environmental practices. Companies have responded by setting targets for becoming “100% sustainable”. However, existing approaches for verifying sustainability face challenges reaching farmers that are too small, too remote, or informally organized. We’ve developed a rigorous, scalable and transparent method of verification that works in this “underserved space” and are rolling it out globally.</span></p> <p> </p> <h3><strong>The Role</strong></h3> <p><strong>Your role will be to assist Enveritas in scaling up its Cote d’Ivoire operations</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">. The role will involve leading and assisting on a number of projects, including planning and overseeing data collection, training and guiding field teams on the ground, analyzing complex data sets, managing stakeholder relationships in country, and developing local sustainability issue expertise. Following the completion of our Cote d’Ivoire project’s core steps by early 2020, a number of internal opportunities may be open to the candidate (e.g. helping set up a new country, supporting the growth of another project, etc.).</span></p> <p><strong>Enveritas will invest heavily in your growth and success</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">.
