Ginkgo’s mission is to make biology easier to engineer. We design, build, and test organisms to address fundamental challenges the world is facing today. Ginkgo bioengineers use our foundry—a custom-built, centralized set of robotic lab equipment and software—to build new organisms for making natural products, pharmaceuticals, biofuels, and more. We're creating the code base, compiler and debugger for biology.
Ginkgo has built a strong set of internal software tools, automation and processes that enable high-throughput genetic engineering across multiple species. We want to make them even better by adding to their capabilities and scaling their performance, while making them easier and more efficient to use. The ideal product management intern has a passion for synthetic biology and scientific software.
We are looking for a product management intern who wants to think about the challenges of translating scientific workflows into software. They are excited to learn the basics of product management, to conduct user research and alpha/beta testing with the goal of delivering solutions that delight our scientists.

The protein engineering team works to address the complex challenges of enzyme discovery, characterization, and engineering. We utilize state-of-the-art computational software developed at Ginkgo to discover novel enzymes and employ cutting-edge software like Rosetta for rationally designing improvements. We devise new methods for diversity generation and complementary screening procedures, which carefully match our customers' requirements.
We are looking for someone who is excited about the field of synthetic biology and loves a challenge. We want a person who is eager to learn and has a desire to utilize automation to work more efficiently. Our ideal candidate will elevate our team through creative solutions while working closely with other foundry groups.

Our team of Organism Engineers (OEs) is the core of Ginkgo’s strain engineering platform. We believe biology is a unique engineering substrate that comes pre-loaded with startlingly brilliant code we didn't write. Enabled by our high-throughput foundry, we study and design the most efficient way to create a new organism using the most advanced molecular biology techniques. We also employ various -omics technologies for understanding, troubleshooting, and debottlenecking our designed systems.
We are looking for an extremely talented Senior Program Director to lead multiple teams in developing highly productive protein expression strains for the delivery of heterologous protein products to markets including food ingredients, therapeutics, and animal feed applications. With your depth of experience in methylotrophic yeast strain design and strain construction, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing new enabling technologies for protein metabolic engineering across the teams you lead and throughout Ginkgo’s foundry. Plus, as a technical leader in your field, you will use your expertise to provide critical insight into the evaluation of strain performance, pathway optimization, and production scale-up/piloting.

Our tech stack includes AWS, Docker, Django, REST, GraphQL, React, MySQL, Postgres,
